My daughter backed over my car in her Jeep.

This is my daily driver.

Notice the dirt on the tire. She literally drove over the tire.

Looks like you could get by with just a fender at least. Did you park in a spot you don't usually park or did daughter just **** up? You would think the tire riding up would trigger the brake pedal!

I backed into a new Hyundai that one of my sons drives, that I bought, with my truck. $1800 in damage to my own car.

Dammit.

Sorry Revvv. I know this comes at a real bad time.

Both my boys were home so more cars in the driveway than usual, and it was dark. If it was dark I was probably drinking , but alcohol was not a contributing factor.

Don't you have a twister to keep an eye on?
Only twister left is in my living room.

Nooooo! Daughter's are the easiest to forgive though.
I didn't get upset with her at all.

The car was behind her. It's normally put away or parked next to her.
Ouch. That blows

More than you know.

The Jeep has rear bumper damage, nothing more.

My car needs a new fender, the door is bent, the inner wheel well may need to be replaced, the headlight is messed up, the entire front bumper is spiderwebbed. I haven't opened the hood yet. The driver door does not open. The alignment is definitely off. The cowl is cracked also.

When she realized the car was hit, I think she hit the gas.

It's a mess.

oh man Revv that sucks at least you know how to fix it
I do not own the tools or have a place to repair the car. This will be done at a body shop that I visit daily. If I had the ability, I would already have the car apart.

I owned the equipment to take care of this once upon a time. Long story short; my dad's drug addiction was paid for when he sold everything we both owned in the shop. He even sold the paint booth.

The Geico rep kept mentioning that the vehicle may be a total loss. It may be. I won't know without looking further into it.

Geico better step up to the plate if they want to call that car totalled.

I didn't get angry at my daughter, either, when she crashed into my pristine Blazer S-10 years ago that I was selling. Looked brand new. So I parked it at the end of our long driveway because a potential buyer was coming over to look at it. It looked like a sure sale. My daughter (17 at the time) was leaving the house in a hurry, hopped into my wife's T-Bird and started backing out. Seconds later I heard BAM! She didn't notice my Blazer and rammed right into it, damaging the rear end and smashing the rear window. There was damage to my wife's rear end, too, but the Blazer took the brunt of it. I wasn't mad at my daughter either. Accidents happen. And she didn't get hurt. The funny part (ya gotta look for humor in a serious situation like that) is that the potential buyer showed up 10 minutes later, looked at the damage, asked me what happened, and said, "well, I guess the sale is off". Ya think! LOL. I had both vehicles repaired and sold the S-10.

Hope you get your Mustang properly fixed soon. Some day you will both look back on that day and honestly, you will both laugh. Right now, it's not humorous. ;)

I pulled my MGW shifter and put the OEM one back in the car. I forgot how much of a pile of crap the OEM is.

I also pulled my Kenwood and the entire harness. I don't want anyone messing with my junk.

I'm sick to my stomach about the car. I don't have time to screw around with this.

With my luck they will try to total the thing.

Geico thinks they can give me a check for $1500 and call it a day. I can't buy the paint and paint material for $1500.

The car is waiting to be placed on an alignment rack. The car is twisted, we just don't know how bad. The gaps in the trunk are twisted. Both windshield pillars show marks where they impacted the fenders. The inner fender is bent, which has pushed the strut. The alignment is way off and pulls to the right.

They want to put junk yard parts on the car, and only replace one headlight. That's not happening. I had to force the guy to place the GT emblem on the estimate.

When I stopped by the shop with my car, the guys laughed at the estimate.

It needs a new fender, windshield washer fluid bottle, new headlight, bumper cover brackets, an emblem, inner fender well, a few minutes on the frame machine, and a full alignment. The cowl is busted also. That is just from what we can see on the ground.

My little girl did it right. You would have thought she was running 60 when she hit the car.

I'm likely forgetting a lot of stuff.

Someone bring me a huge bottle of Makers Mark. Then I can sit and not care about the car all weekend.
