Looks good. What receiver was it built on? I have two built on Imbel receivers and love them.

DS Arms built it on their type 1/2/3 receivers. I want to say it’s a type 3. I’m kicking around getting a parts kit and putting another together. Friend of mine has 2 imbels also.

I have a 458, it kicks like a 12gal. Ammo ain't cheap and really only found online. A few guys online have broken lowers, even some of the over built lowers. Mine has killed a Acog and a Aimpoint. If you want to supress it only one can works on it, (that I found, the hybrid and not cheap on the can list)

But yes you need one. After you have one any 308 rilfe is like a 22, and you laugh when you shoot a 556 rifle. You can use normal GI mags for holding 10 rounds, and mostly are the parts you use are normal AR parts.

I don't shoot a whole bunch, so maybe a lower would hold up for a while? I hadn't heard of any reliability issues.

I mean it was on the internet. No one I know in person has had lower break on them ( only 3 people I know locally have one). I'm about 500 rounds and my lower is fine. I was just giving what I heard, being bad about them.

Again I would tell people to get one if they have the money, and its not the only rifle you will have.

I think it looks like a lot of fun. Definitely more of a "bet you haven't shot one of these before" kind of guns at the range.

So this is one of the first complete Sig/SAN SG550s in the United States since the 89 import ban. 1 of 10 in its configuration. Sold as a "Conversion upper" pistol and I threw a swiss lower and stock on since it is a 20.7 inch barrel. The 551 upper is 1 of 5 in its configuration. Have to get a lower for it and SBR everything to throw a stock on. Also I have another SG550 coming on Thursday that setup like a stgw90. It needs an ACOG!
