I got my Mach a few months ago, my understanding is that Comp orange is a 2004 specific color for Machs, anyone else have a 2003 in comp orange? Ive looked for clues of a repaint but cant find anything. I also suspect that maybe its one of the last 2003 machs right before they released the 04 comp orange machs. Any insight?

take your v.i.n. and use it to order COA papers from the ford performance website. you'll get the exact build date and sequence number as well as the breakdowns of all the colors and options for each of the two years.

That’s very interesting. It could be a preproduction model in that color. Mine is an early production 04 made in 10/03. Stickers on parts show 10-13-03.
What’s the production date on the sticker in the door jam?

Very interesting, indeed...

Everything I have read - even from Ford's own website - says that Comp Orange was not available on the 2003 Mach 1's.

You may have a 1 of 1!

This is a post off the Mach 1 Registry forum, it might be something you can look for to get some info about your car:
The COA is the only way to get a production number. If you (carefully) drop down your glovebox, is may have what we called a grocery store sticker on the backside. The is usually the day before production, at least that seemed to be the way it worked for '03s. I don't know if 04s have that same sticker, but it's worth a shot and will give you an approximate date of production.
The sticker could give some info on if your car was a preproduction CO model.

Open up your gas door. If the vin. Number sticker is not on it or missing, the cars authenticity is highly suspicious.
