So I'm stuck with my 2014 GT for a while. That's not a bad thing. I still really like the car. I love the way it looks, and it's comfortable for the most part. The only thing I don't like about it, and the one thing that makes me hesitant to continue to mod it is the fact it is a A6.
If it was a 6-spd there would be no doubt as to whether or not I would keep it and build it.
I put on a Paxton 2200sl over the winter and for a while it was fast. Which bumped it to 605rwhp from 359rwhp. But I am now used to the speed and want some more especially down low. When I'm driving around town it doesn't have the roll on power I want. Don't get me wrong from a dead stop it is still fast, once it hits the power band it stays there. But for around town it is kind of disappointing.
A stall is out of the question and it's a convertible so it's not a track car.
I know there is many here who have been at this crossroads and your insight and experience is helpful.
So here is my thoughts.
1. Torque Booster, enjoy it for what it is and save cash for a new toy maybe a GT500 or?
2. Build the shortblock get a fuel system and pulley down. But I don't think you can get to a 1,000 rwhp with the 2200SL
3. Get a VMP Gen2 and get that down low torque
4. Do twin turbos, run low boost until I get a short block and fuel. This is the most expensive route costing an estimated $18k-$20k
5. VMP Gen3, get a short block and fuel and spin hard.
6. Trade for '13-'14 6-spd, do a tremec swap and build a turbo or keep the Paxton and build it.
My goals are to have a fun, reliable, and 1,xxx rwhp street car.
