There are stories that Are hard to believe, here is this one. I bought a 2014 GT500 from macari dodge in oaklawn Illinois. I think its oaklawn. The car had less than 3600 miles on it. It had a vmp tune,2.4 pully,67mm throttlebody,90mm idler.i had the oil changed last October then put it up for the winter. I started driving it late in may.by June the check oil light came on. I checked it,it was 2 quarts low. The car had not been driven 500 miles yet. That was strange to me. So I looked at my oil in July it looked real dirty, so August 2,2018 I changed the oil with ford 5w50.august 18,2018 I went to the store came out and started the car, and it was ticking.i checked the oil, there was no reading. So I put 5 quarts of oil in it just to bring it up to where it should be. Now this is a car that drinks oil. From time to time there is a little white smoke that comes out of the pipes in the back. I don't remember that going on until I had longtube headers put on and the cats taken off. The car drives fine with no other issues. I said this to say, things do happen. By the way did I mention the car has less than 11k miles on it. What do you guys think. My garage has no spots on the floor at all. Where is the oil going?

It's time for diagnostic checks. Compression and leak down.

Yes I plan on having it looked at. My car has a drinking buddy.a friend of mine bought a 2017 350 R new.early last month he took it in for his first oil change. He had under 4500 miles on it. Yesterday he had to put 5 quarts of oil in it, and he is just over 6k miles. What the hell!!! I'm not a mechanic, and I drive like a maniac, roll racing not drag racing too much.its fun. There is issues with these motors. I have said for years if John colletti was running ford performance these things would not be going on. I don't drink period, maybe I should start drinking too.lol.

I'd say your GT500 has an abnormal issue, as I haven't heard many people talk about consuming oil like yours.

Your buddy with the R, needs to check his oil more frequently. Being 5 quarts low and driving around is not a good idea.

The thing is most people wouldn't think that you would need to check the oil that fast after going to the dealership and having them change the oil.i think his car drinks oil too.

Was his oil low when he took it in with 4500 miles on it? Or was it only low after the oil change?

I don't know how it was at the start.but to be 5 quarts low after leaving the dealership is crazy

Correct, but if it wasn't low at the oil change and only became low after the oil change...I'd bet money the dealership didn't fill it correctly.

Your right, and I told him to keep an eye on it.its full now. If it goes back down, I will come on here and let you guys know. They do say those cars burn up alot of oil

They do. But there's no way it burned 5 quarts in 1500 miles.

I was told that the vehicle was modded by the previous owner and that is was perfectly fine so they sold it as a certified preowned car. CPO has a 100k Warranty on it which then covers all plus I have the power train warranty on it as well. Lawyer has been contacted for these transgressions

disconnecting the battery does not reset the flash run counter only the drive cycle counter for emissions

if you can't prove that the dealership flashed the pcm when they got it then your SOL
