Didn't mean to make this a TB thread as this was already discussed at length.
Crazy as it seems when I first got my SCJ from FRPP it couldn't be tuned by two 25+ year Mustang Race Shops + Lund. I sent it to Accufab, spoke with their Tech and even the owner called me at 6:30pm due to my assertions with their tech. I told them after the Lund tune the wrench light came on 200' from my home...warm up issue? They bench tested it for 2 weeks ...even baked it in an oven to 260 degrees! Accufab determined it was 100% functional on the Accufab bench computer...used on all their TB's from Chevy to Mopar. Returned to me ? Wrench Light !
I ordered another SCJ from Summit just out of curiosity. Same effect on both shop base tunes + Lund's. Summit refunded my money. I spoke to FRPP extensively as they would not refund my money. Lund was telling me since 2012-2013 Accufab did something different with the SCJ but both Accufab nor FRPP wanted to hear that.
Around May '17 FRPP told me they were starting a new Test Dept just for SCJ's as they had one on a shop test 5.0 (not GT500 ECU). Before I could volunteer my SCJ somebody reportedly wrecked the test car. Regardless...by that time I was pulling thru the KB168 and even Lund's base tune had me cruising & Data logging. Maybe FRPP has the Test dept set up by now.
One thing I did NOT do was swap my electronics from my stock TB to the SCJ as it already the servo. The KB168 required that swap...which with KB's guidance was pretty easy. Yet verifiably guys have posted great dyno reviews on the SCJ which is terrific. Crazy Heh??

Yes this is for the KB 168 and twin 75 but can be used with the Whipple 170.
From our measure the KB168 is a slightly better fit than the Whip170

Awesome tape job. Seriously:)
So what’s the deal? Trying to decide which one to replace the Trinity 5.8 with?
Very cool to see the size definitely is different between the Gen3 and Whipple 2.9

I believe so. Following his FB updates. No numbers yet but The 2.9 whipple was first, Gen 3 VMP is on now.

Agreed on the side difference, interesting!

That doesnt say anything other than he ran 182.9. I know he did 182.9 on the 2.65 but he hasnt released that info with specs yet.

VMPs 2015 Coyote car made 1020 boost only bone stock long block.

They are just getting going here .... this blower will make 1100+ easily on boost on the 5.0 platform very soon!

The coyote engine will make more power, so they are going to get good numbers out of That set up.

Interesting results. I'm happy with my choice.
Very impressed with a direct independent comparison.
Major respect to those involved.

how much will these being going for?

By this you can tell the 2.9 Is truly a monster of a blower.
Contact Scott Hasty thru Facebook.
And why do you say that about the 2.9?
I'd like to see max blower speeds recommended for all 3 blowers.

Thank you. I'm not sure what the max blower speed of the TVS is but I'm highly positive it isn't close to 26500 rpm, but let us say one decided to spin the 2.9 to catch up to blower speed of the TVS. You would need a 2.5” upper pulley to get close enough to match the 2.65’s blower rpm speed. In other words that is 6 more psi the 2.9 has left to use where as the 2.65 is maxed out. The larger blower starts to show bigger is in fact better when used accordingly, the issue is though with the 2.9 for some reason or another it is very rare anyone ever puts it on kill like the TVS guys do.

This is the maxed out combo Whipple recommends. Dustin Whipple, after the test, did tell Weir that one pulley size down would be 24,000 rpm and he would be playing with fire on reliability. The VMP have always been overspun and very reliable doing so. Thats why you see more TVS guys going ape sht with their combo.
