I think the lack of cats will have more impact on sound vs. which material it is made from.

I've got a catted Bassani on my 98 (which is clamshell style) but only two cats instead of four and the sound is a bit more aggressive over stock but not much louder.

VRS makes the UPR pipe, they're the same. I've had the Pypes one too. The Pypes one is dogshit compared to the VRS/UPR. The VRS/UPR pipes are made by a shop in Florida right here in the USA to boot. Fitment is like stock and the ground clearance is as good as stock as well.

Stainless will make it sound different? Lol no. If you DO get stainless tho get direct from VRS. They'll use legit good quality 409 stainless or if you call maybe they'll have some 304 tubes in stock they can use which is even better. Pypes... lol its "stainless"...

1 - No its not

2 - There isn't one except price. UPR buys them in bulk from VRS so they get them cheaper and can sell them cheaper. Direct from VRS will be a touch more but you can get more options and call and customize your pipe like an extra bung for a wideband etc...
