Over the past week, we've been having a slow leak on our Edge Sport (2013). Wife took it in today to get the tire repaired. Come to find out the rim is cracked.

So I thought I'd post up here and see if there is anyone that may have replaced their rims and wants to sell the OEM 22" rims that came on these Sport models. I'll try to post up a picture.

So how about it SVTP, can anyone help a brutha out?

Brad, I read this thread and was surprised that the factory wheels were 22". I thought it was a post error by the OP. But lo and behold, 22" wheels were stock. I'm wondering why Ford downsized to 20" stock and 21" optional wheels starting with the '15 Edge Sport. Just curious why Ford downsized the wheels.

At least the customers we have had with them seemed very unhappy at the lack of tire life and replacement options. I think the size used, 265/40R22, wasn't that common so other options for tires are only just now coming online. FWIW the Explorer Sports of the same time period came with 20s stock.

Weird that the Explorer got the 20". I can see why customers might be unhappy about the cost of aftermarket 22" tires, especially when it isn't a common size.

To the OP, you can fit the new Edge Sport(2015+) wheels on your truck. Swap to the 20's or 21's and lower the rotational weight a bit. The 22's from the pre-2015 Sport models were unbelievably heavy.

77 lbs with the tires. Also the 15+ edge has a different bolt pattern compared to the 11-14.
07-14 are 5x114.3 and the 15+ is 5x108.

My wife's edge sport just developed a bulge on the sidewall so I'm probably gonna have to get new tires. Gonna price them today along with an alignment on Monday. I was thinking about going down to a 20 as well not I just had these wheels powdercoated. I ended up throwing her winter wheels and tires on early. 11-14 mustang wheels fit these too. Running a set for winter.

The thing that prompted me to start this thread is the price the tire shop have me to replace this rim. $1100!

I just thought I'd give a shot that someone had one they'd like to sell. I've already found some in the $600 range, but wanted to check with SVTP first.

Mom had a 10 Edge sport and the factory 22s, it was a constant fight to keep the factory Pirellis aired up after 2.5 years.
We were going to replace them with Michelin's but we ordered a pair of Mustangs in 14, and limped them along.

Wow, didn’t even know. That was a terrible decision on Fords part. I wonder why the change?

The Pirellis that came on this thing were garbage. Replaced with Michelins
Got quoted 919 for falkens with a 50k warrenty so that's probably what I'll go with. I also got quotes 417 installed for iron man tires with no warrenty. Dunno if I should trust them.

Michelin are hard to beat when it comes to regular duty all season tires, even performance. Getting ready to put a set on my Escape. They are expensive, but they are worth it.
The Pirelli are just a step above a spare tire... They came on the '14 mustangs and I was really disappointed. Don't know why Ford uses them..?
