I plan on running long tube headers but I'm not for sure if I want to run with cats or non cats. Its because I live here in Texas and you have to pass emissions. I wonder if there's a way i could get a tune and run without cats and still pass emissions has anyone encounter this before.

I have no cats and an AED tune. I pass the OBD test no problem. A good tuner can work around the cats and rear o2 sensors
IMHO the extra $$ spent on aftermarket cats is a waste. I am a mechanic and have installed "green cats" or "high flow cats". I feel like they are cats in name only. In order to be high flow the cell count must be lower, consequently they don't clean as well and will set a P0420/430 code.....
