Hey all, I have the BBQ tick on my 13 GT. I took the car to the Ford dealer and they said, they have heard this noise on couple of other Mustangs and there is nothing they can do unless the noise gets louder. My car being out of warranty I am willing to try anything to get rid of this annoying sound. Spent many weeks online researching and found out that Mobil 1 0W40 and Cera Tec Friction Modifier works great to get rid of the sound. As soon as I receive the Cera Tec I will put them both in to see if the tick goes away.
I just want to know if the 0W40 Euro spec is ok to use on the 5.0 engine. I have the Track pack which says to put 5W50, last oil change I used Castrol's full synthetic 5W50 which made the tick to happen almost all the time compare to 5W20 which the tick would come and go, specially if the car was hot.
Anyways I will put the new oil in and report back next week if my ticking is gone or not.

Not my car but sounds the same, by all the readings I've done, it effects Coyote engines from 11 - current gen. Lots of people say to ignore it, even one guy mention he had the tick for over 150k on his engine with no issue, just annoying as hell to me.

Mobile 1 0-40 is all I used in my 2014 Stage 3 Roush. My car was a track pack car also before the dealer sent it to Roush. I traded it two months ago for a 2018 Raptor, it had 22,000 miles when I traded it, and I never had any strange noises or issues!

Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm glad the oil worked great for your ride. If this fixes that annoying tick then that's what I will use from now on.

Forgot to add, I only changed the oil every 6,000 miles. Car made 626hp/ 538tq when it was tuned at the 1600 mile mark. Never tracked it but did run it hard now and then.

Those are great numbers, I'm stock currently so I'm sure it should work out fine
