Anyone know where I can source a block. Seems Ford discontinued the iron block. Sucks because I have one but the cyclinders are out of spec for my rotating assembly and I already got it balanced. I thought I had one from Cj Pony Parts but it didn't work out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think there's any difference between the iron block in a GT500 and the iron block used in all 5.4 trucks. You may not find new, but there's got to be used blocks in abundance.

Pretty sure they are the same.

I mean wait scratch that, everyone knows Ford mixed unicorn blood into the castings to make the motor more magical. :D

The GT500 block is discontinued. The 5.4L truck block can be used but does not have a freeze plug in the water pump pocket like the Shelby. Ford does not offer a plug of the correct size, we had to source one and trim it to fit. However the truck blocks are also on a national back order. I've had several on order since June and they keep getting pushed back 2 weeks every time I call Ford. They do have a note stating over 3,000 units have been shipped from the supplier. Who knows when the blocks will go through inspection, final assembly, and crating ready to ship. (holding my breath...)
