So who has done "Tail of the Dragon"?

This was my first time. I'm far from a seasoned track driver like some out there, but I feel I did well. Was absolutely worth the drive down. Really pushed my driving skills set to the max.

Fiesta did really well on these roads. My buddy was in a S550 and we were actually fairly well matched on the Dragon. On some of the more open roads, I didn't have a chance to really keep up, but it was great on the dragon.

Fiesta is tuned, Eibach springs, lightweight wheels and Continental ECS tires.

2,830 miles round trip (Went to Niagara Falls and Nashville on the way). Averaged 31.2 MPG

1. My S550 friend got clocked 64 in a 30. Only got a $54 warning. Was incredibly lucky. My Fiance was filming one run of mine (going easy since she couldnt hold on) and my V1 probably saved me from a ticket

2. Gen 6 camaro crashed while tailgaiting me at dusk. Luckily he seemed to be OK. He didnt stop when I waited for him. It was a down, then up, and then hard right. I accelerated easily out of the right, but I saw his lights go right, then hard left, and into the ditch.

3. So many beautiful roads. Just try to keep on your side of the lane

4. Lots of bikes. The dual sport and crotch rockets are flying. Its the Harleys that ride ON the yellow you got to watch out for

I've done it in my Terminator and will be doing it again next April. There's many roads around there besides the tail that are very fun. Beautiful country for sure.

Nice shots sir! Looks like fun. Working up the courage to take my R1 up there
Just don't leave any parts on the tree at Deals Gap.

A few friends of mine are down there right now in BMW's, one in a e39 m5 the other in a E46 ZHP. Think they're with a big BMW convoy

I just wonder how fun it can really be when the road is a 35mph and it's heavily patrolled by cops

Depends on when you go. We were there first thing in the morning and I don't remember seeing a single cop. Drove it 3 times and I will say that by the 3rd time, the minivans had showed up.

I'd want to trailer my Cobra, not drive the 1100 mile each way.

But DAMN, even the surrounding roads are super sketchy for a amateur trailer tower

There are spots that can be incredibly challenging at 35-40mph. The windiness of a few of the sections is unreal

Did it years ago on my RC51. Only time I’ve been down on a bike. Low sided on a left near the base of the run. Long ride from there to ATL. Luckily slid toward the mountain, and didn’t have too much damage. Beautiful ride!

Went through it twice and only saw one officer. Our group was going *at least* the posted speed limit and we weren’t hassled. Their presence in the area could be to deter drivers from going too crazy (which still happens) and for quick response to any incidents as opposed to hardcore policing.

Let me know when you're down here. I will have to chase you in my lowly GT.

Rumor was they needed to land a medivac helicopter the day before I got there.

Very sad

I did it with my brother in law in his C6 Z07 a few years ago. Was a blast! We were pulling 1g nearly every turn. We both found it difficult not getting car sick when passengers during a pass... but other than that we had a blast!

We go every year for the week. We rent a house w/ 6 guys and ride non stop. The dragon is amazing, the skyway is beautiful.. Honestly I don't want to ride my ducati around here anymore. I was eternally spoiled.

Did you get the dragon sticker from killboys store? It's a must!!
