Yep, just looked at the descriptiin of the vid and that is what it said. I dont know much about the old planes but thought it was cool they found one still intact.

I thought it was, had the profile, but several fighters from that era all had similar profiles. I also figured it was based on the chinese hauling it up, probably a flying tiger, group of American volunteers fighting the japs in China.

Some of the comments are claiming the plane in the video is a replica or movie prop because there is no way it could survive intact that long underwater.

They look like they would be a blast to fly though! If I had my license I would want to fly old WW2 fighters if I could fly anything. A jet would be cool but there is just something cooler about those planes.

it did look remarkably intact...water temps and salinity would definitely factor in how well it was preserved.

That's what I was thinking. Might be that one special case where conditions were better and the plane survived longer.

Every time I see a laid out aircraft on a runway I always think of cats running across the floor on their stomach just to get that scratch.
