I'm going to have a built short block , pistons/rods oil pump etc. Possibly small cams , heads ported. What blower would you guys recommend ? VMP 2650 or a Whipple 3.4 , 4.0 ? It will have long tubes with an off road X. A built 4R70W from FB. Return style with big injectors and pumps. Street car mostly, thanks for any advice.

Based on your street comment, I say 2650 as you'll have more midrange power.. my thoughts

All three can reach 1000 pretty easy. A smaller blower spun harder will generate more heat vs the larger one being spun at a slower rate making the same boost level. I just liked how the power comes on with the whipple vs the tvs but that's personal performance. As long as you don't under spin these larger blowers they have a very nice mid range power band. With my 3.4 it has almost no balls below 4500 on 91 fuel but on e85 with a smaller pulley it pulls hard everywhere.

Either one of those blowers will get you there....like Sielmo said, it's just your personal preference in how you want the power to come on.
I should have said it'll be on 93 plus Torco for the street
Its gonna be tough to make 1000hp on 93 and Torco. If that’s your goal then you’re going to have to go as big as possible on the blower, and Whipple or KB are your options.

If you are trying to make big #s on pump the main focus needs to be on big headers, ported lower, heads etc.... ~9.5:1 with some custom grinds.

Agree with above but any reason for that number goal?
1000hp street car sounds fun but unless you’re running the best of the best drag radials it won’t hook well.
I’ve always liked the FB built 4R70 but the new 6R80 is just better in almost every way.
With 93 and Torco the fuel restriction I’d go 3.4-4.0 Whipple.

Thanks very much guys, I have the FB now and I really like it so I'm going to keep it. As for 1000 goal .... it's just a goal , It makes 700/640 now at the tires, I would like it to be better on a roll / highway. So I guess it's what can I make on 93 and Torco .

Ive had gen 2 tvs, whipple 3.4, and now whipple 4.0
I have no experience with the 2.65. With a built motor I would go straight to the 4.0

The 4.0 is not needed unless 1200+ is the goal. Otherwise it will be underspun and underperform.
