So, to spice up this thread... I pulled the trigger on Friday and picked up a 17 GT350 with some mods already done including 4.09 gears. This thing is not only gorgeous but pulls great too. Love the way it feels driving it and it's a ton of fun. Literally zero regrets coming from my 756rwhp/682rwtq 03 Cobra.View attachment 1529249

Congrats! Love the stripe delete LB. I too came from large HP and TQ. 14 GT500 then a 16 HC A8. So much fuss is made about the lack of low end. I actually love the characteristics of the car. The low end is great for just commuting around town and popping the throttle. Love the majic after 4k rpms. Everything is so well balanced and controllable. I cannot wait for my Track Attack experience.

Congrats. Looks sharp, love the color. Off topic how do you like that max lift? How deep is it drilled in your concrete?

Love the lift. It has worked flawlessly. Had a concrete guy install them. I think he said the concrete was 4 inches thick if I remember correctly. The MaxJax is meant to be installed in a home garage and is actually not that expensive. I'm just glad the Shelby fits just fine. Wasn't sure how much wider it was than the 03 and if I would have to move one post or not. Still have room for another car in the garage too.

Good to hear about your car.

What have you read as a far as changes Ford gas made to address the oil consumption?

It's more or less some part number changes on engines I guess. I've seen it talked about on different forums but I don't have any way to confirm it. Hence my reservation on it.

Ford would obviously be aware of the issues, but with the continued building of these cars they must be confident that they can get the issue remedied or they are making so much on the car itself they don't mind replacing engines.

Congrats. What mods does it have done besides the rear gears? While you were buying yours I was busy ripping parts of of my 660whp GT500 so I could trade it in on Tuesday.

Absolutely loving the GT350. Miss the low end torque at times, but literally everything else is better. Considering a gear change to either 4.09's of the Yukon 4.56's as I don't really see myself going to forced induction with this motor.

I can't deny it, the Shelby 350 is a good looking car.

I too went from a 600 hp GT500 and was a little concerned about the loss of the low end torque but the first time you spin that 5.2 beyond 4k rpms you will love it. My old GT500 had a ton of low end but you had to be very careful when you used it because it could bite you but the GT350 is much more planted and the power is very usable.

Car has the 4.09 gears, Mantic clutch, carbon fiber driveshaft, upgraded axles, some BMR suspension (rear) parts, resonator delete, drop in filter. Just ordered a Borla ATAK catback and MGW shifter for it so it's about to get a bit louder .

I could run some crude calc's, but what sorta RPM patterns are you seeing (i.e. max speed in 3, 4, etc. Cruising RPM in 6th at 70, 80, etc).

I bet the 4.09's really liven the car up.

What is your experience with launching or low speed hammer? The wider gear setup with the rpm power banding on the 350 makes adequate launches a razor thin affair between bog and spin, do the 4.09's help with that?

Did you pickup any gear whine after the 4.09s were installed?
