To those thinking the Porsche is a valid choice for towing 7k lbs would you tow that same weight with a new Ranger?

If the answer is no then you are purely but swinging on Porsche.

this thread needs to be cleaned up IMO, lots of personal attacks and bickering...

Nah. Let the comments stay so the world can see them splash their haterade. I'm actually having a good laugh at their whining. Maybe I should change my name to treynor,jr so I could also get my balls cupped. He drops millions on cars, and those same exact guys will get their faces slathered in spit from licking his balls. I'm just talking about buying a freaking Porsche, and these mofos are blowing all kinds of gaskets left and right! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Hmm... Wonder why.

you want to tow in luxury? just get an escalade.

not fast enough? do like Norcal and toss a whipple on it. there, luxury and fast!

I rode in a Callaway Escalade over the summer at a local cruise and it was really nice. Moved out well considering the size. I would probably go Tahoe if it were me only because of personal preference. Callaway does make a pretty nice package.

Nah, there are plenty of dudes here that are much closer to being “treynor jr” than you. But to your non-question question...it’s because treynor is a positive guy. That’s why people “cup his balls” as you say. I do see some people go out of their way to mess with you, but not for the reason you insinuate (at least 99.5% of the time). You’re a negative dude a lot of times and that grates on people’s nerves. That’s why they mess with you imho.

Back on topic. Regardless of that article that praises the Porsche, I wouldn’t double duty a DD with a boat that is near the towing capacity of said vehicle. Especially one with a known astronomical maintenance/repair cost. Get the Porsche, and buy a boat lower in price to offset the price of a “cheap” tow rig.

Regarding all of these pressing, serious life decisions; He just needs to ask himself from now on------ WWTD?

They are so similar, after all.

According to the rep we dealt with, A Cayenne Turbo S isn't really an off-the-lot vehicle. So it'll have to be ordered. The Turbo S isn't configurable on Porsche's site yet, but the Turbo is. Configuring a Turbo to what I'd like, it's over $140K. The Turbo S will probably start somewhere around $160K. The rep said neither of them will be for sale in the States until next summer. The problem with that is the 2020 Lincoln Aviator will be hitting the market somewhere around that time. That vehicle's looks alone put up a STRONG argument despite it not really matching our parameters.
HOLY CRAPPPPP!!!!! Over 160K?!?! Baller status. lol
Yeah,......the Lincoln is killer, but definitely outside of what you want it to do.

A lot of haters on here. A Lincoln and Escalade may be luxurious, but they will never be as fun to drive as a Cayenne Turbo. Literally you hit a button and the suv raise up and is in 4x4 mode, hit another button and it lowers a couple of in inches and you are in performance mode and the transmission shifts different, the throttle response is completely changed and your ready to rock and roll. If you want to cruise down the highway in comfort not feeling any bumps, then there is a mode for that too. The fact that it can tow 7500# is just a bonus. I don't know many other performance vehicles that are as versatile. As far as reliability, go look at sixspeedonline and Rennlist and research the reliability and towing capabilities.

I'm not wasting time reading all this, but..
A loaded out F-250 Platinum or King Ranch would effectively & reasonably tow most any boat you put behind it. It'd do the job very well & have good resale value.
I guess the question would be, is it luxurious enough? I guess that depends on what your definition of luxurious is.. They're pretty fancy for a truck. Meant to tow heavy payloads, like a truck.
I'd not want the item being towed, to be bigger than what I was yanking it with..

@GT Premi just go in eyes wide open about the maintenance costs of the Porsche. If this is truly a car you plan on keeping for a long while, make sure you are ok with fixing it off warranty. Price out air shocks, suspension control, BRAKES, trans and diff maintenance etc.

If you have the cash, more power to you. But dont kid yourself, the words Porsche and affordable maintenance have not and will never be associated with each other. I strongly recommend buying the extended factory warranty for as long and high mileage as you can get. It will pay for itself, trust me.
