DBK, Do you think they will offer the CF wheels and wing as options or do you have to go with the Track Package?

And boys, add up all those track goodies and this car will be 90K. MSRP. Just wait.

Look it was a lame as **** reveal. But what really sucks is the loss of handbrake and that lame ass Ford Fusion rotary dial for gear select. Other than that, it's awesome. Just wait for the price. Gonna shock a lot of people.

Just to remind people.

Demon

0-60: 2.1
0-100: 5.1
1/4 9.65@140

Course nobody has ever gotten those times, ever. But my penis grows when I say them :).

The GT500 is going to be a beast. But my Demon with race fuel will walk it.

Car sounds great from the factory, also has some impressive stats.

...but that rotary dial shifter is terrible... also remember the Ford GT has the same thing.
I'll be keeping my old boat of a GT500.

HP guesses based on the trans ???
.
.
TREMEC has unveiled this family approach with a 7-speed, 900Nm (664 lb-ft) dual clutch transmission that takes into account a modular design for RWD, AWD and transaxle platforms.

All subsystems and components were precisely designed to assure maximum performance of the complete transmission system. The system is optimized by unique friction material, efficient hydraulics, low-leak solenoids, plus a transmission control unit equipped with sophisticated, application-specific software.

Features at a glance:

  • Seven forward speeds
  • Modular design for rear-wheel drive (RWD), all-wheel drive (AWD) and trans-axle platforms
  • Torque capacity of 900 Nm (664-lb-ft)
  • 9,000 RPM maximum input speed
  • Performance-oriented gear ratio spread
  • Integrated mechatronics
  • .

Ugly. Not particularly fast. Way late to the show for these specs. Will cost more than the competition. Pretty much cements my decision to go marginally used Z06 route.

Literally fastest Mustang ever produced, at least as fast in a straight line as the most expensive Corvette you can buy.

Other than that, not that fast.

As fast or faster than top Corvette in a line (enter ZR1).

So bottom 10's from the Shelby? Very impressive indeed. Looking forward to hearing more info on this car.

Don't bother fixating on the PR shit. You'll forget that in a few weeks. This is just how they do it.

The point is, what would you think if you were just told there was a Mustang that:

- Ran 10s in the 130s, repeatably, stock
- Was legitimately track ready in terms of cooling capability despite having a 2.65 TVS
- Had a proper legitimate DCT that was better than the DCT in a lot of supercars
- Was available with exposed CF wheels and wing
- Had some of the most monster brakes ever put on a sports car

Pretty decent Mustang. This car is kind of a GT2 RS to the GT350R's GT3 RS, but with an even bigger hardware disparity.

If you're a track guy, this will be a great car to hustle, and it will indeed hustle. It's just heavy.

If you care about going in a straight line, it's pretty fast as it is, but it's a very good platform to start with. I mean really, regardless of what the engine gets sold at, it's capable of making a lot of power. With a DCT and real tires, it will fly in a straight line too.

My questions that I hope you could "guess" answers to:
1) I see there is Carbon Fiber "track pack", I'm assuming that has sport cup tires.
2) Will the carbon fiber "track pack" be production limited like the GT350R, or will anyone be able to get one like the track pack on the 13-14 GT500.
3) Will the non track pack be trackable as a 2017 track pack equipped GT350 non R is? I. e. is the GT500 carbon fiber "track pack" really a track pack you HAVE to have for HPDE use, or just a "nice to have".
4) Price for the car without the carbon fiber option.
5) Price for the carbon fiber option.
6) Quantity estimates?
