what do you mean looked down on? Would he have said it is a shit car, no. would he have gave his blessing moving away from the live axle setup? IDK, but since he had plenty of time to move away from it and never did i would say it would not have his blessing as the car with his name on it. He definitely had the knowledge and said the 5.4L was the best american engineered engine IDK what would have happened. he would have been pleased with the cars coming out of Shelby American but his true gt500 would have been a live axle 5.4L.

Ac cobra/daytona coupe, gt40 all IRS. I dont think CS cared, he was a racer and he would go to what wins

DCT is a wildcard. I like driving a manual with no auto blip or other driving aids and trying to get downshifts right.

BUT, that video of I think it was Treynor, driving a GT4 DCT at an HPDE did look like fun too.

but the question is not what CS raced in at LeMans or elsewhere, but are you suggesting that he has been selling us snake oil cars building live axle vehicles gt500,vipers, omni GLH. Then when he passes mustangs get a new chassis . Was he selling a driving experience, but now his name is being used as a marketing scheme. He was building a truly unique car you can call American. Now we can call the newer chassis American BMWs. you say Shelby and it immediately registers an emotional response as an American pride. Now as we see the shift of the company going towards a newer customer base of the 200k BMW guys, instead of here is the canvas. Lets see if you can impress others and me. CA rat rod scene was his roots and he never forgot those roots. Thats why he is a national treasure. This is American and made by Americans and you can kiss my ass cause the last time i shipped my car to Europe to run your race tracks over there was never. i can see on you tube you run Nuremburg, and hear your review, and run slower by .8 sec. you know what though. Its American and damn do you wish it sounded like a v8/v10(viper).

Keep poking at something I explained a long time ago, lol.

Which proves I got something specific on an unreleased feature and well you...got nothing but coat tails.
You got one ****ing thing right. One. And it was something no one gave a shit about. Give it up.

WHO told ford we wanted another road course focused mustang????????? WHY????? Just like the GT350, how many will end up on a track actually? This is so stupid. Nobody wanted this, we wanted a street strip car that was not 95000lbs like the challenger, but with the same power. And not a chevy. But no, they keep making these razor sharp track toys that are going to push into the six figure range with ADM and NOBODY is going to race them. Let alone drive them at that money. They will end up sitting in garages for their entire lives, or being shipped off to the UAE. I like the fact that they finally got with the auto program. But a KNOB????? What is this a Dodge ram? Ford you missed the mark once again. The gen pop will not be able to get this car, and if they do they will never put it to the use its been engineered for. Swing and a miss, strike two.
Who told ford? The lines of people lining up to buy the gt350, the nfgt, and all the people buying track ready parts for the base gt cars.
ok fine you are faster at Nuremberg with a DCT and IRS. But when im controlling a machine trying to kill me with a live axle and 6 speed it become more of an accomplishment you didnt die then a computer making you faster and an engineered suspension making sure you stay planted. Like I said different cars different experiences and you have to respect that. Nothing wrong if you love hat type of experience and looking for that experience and performance. i think im hating cause it was so hyped and just became another high performance BMW.

Being slow because your car is an ill sorted half undrivable piece of shit isnt an accomplishment. Its a handicap.

Vipers are not and never were solid axle... And just so you know there are TONS of race tracks with left AND right turns in north america and a huge number of people getting into it. Its more fun thats just simple fact

No thats how your explaining it. Live axle manual transmission car thats trying to kill me...

Pass. Id rather have a well sorted car that isnt slower than most its competitors and requires being driven at 11/10s to keep up.

I didn't think it possible to have an object as dense as DepWraith in this thread. Turns out I was wrong.

What about the Series 1?
I'm sitting in a building full of original Shelbys from the 60's. I had breakfast with CS once and he was really excited about carbon fiber and new tech. I've talked to Phil Remington, Bob Bondurant and Lew Spencer about this stuff. He also spent YEARS away from cars and only came back when there was $ in it for him again. Man, I dont even know what to say... do you know about the IRS 65 GT350's that Shelby wanted to build? What about the prototype 07 GT500 IRS that got axed for cost reasons? I stand by my statement.

what funny is everyone getting so mad but know I have said a lot of truth. debate me on that. debate me that this car is not turning into a high performance BMW so they can tripe the price tag. their business model can no longer cater to the blank slate car enthusiast and become Im a yuppie that rides my Harley to sturgis in my business suit.

Carol didn’t have anything to do with your Shelby unless you sent it to Shelby America, or it was a 13 or 07 he gave his blessing too.

So jes what happened from 60's to protype 07. Was that just CS blowing smoke up our asses saying this car was not a "ill sorted half undrivable piece of shit isnt an accomplishment. Its a handicap"...i dont believe i ever saw that on a gt500 advertisement or a dealership banner.

Not mad at all, you are just very wrong.
CS had very little to do with any of these cars since 2007 besides collecting a check for letting Ford use his name.
Ford has been talking about going up-scale and "world class" for years. Guess what? The market loves it.

I'm not even sure what you are asking, but CS had no problem blowing smoke up peoples asses to sell s**t. He put his name on everything you can imagine..."Pit Stop" spray deodorant for example.
