Full effect in San Bernardino modified lightnings to supercabs. I know this for a fact because growing up my dad had one. It was the first one they built it had matching numbers and the certificate. Many people would call it fake until they saw the truth. It's real and it actually happed it was featured in truckin magazine and Ford truckin.

I know I saw the dates I just wanted to make sure anyone who looked it up was able to find the right info. My dad recently passed so I went in search for pics and info on the truck

Sorry for your loss. That's tough. I lost my mom 4 years ago and miss her every day.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Actually, it is true what he said. I saw a Gen 2 extended cab in San Bernardino while I was working there, it was white IIRC. I wanted to buy one at the time and found out it was a shop that did the conversions, not sold at any Ford dealer anywhere. Also, I seem to remember that the conversion was something like 12 to 15K.

Ford dealers did offer 2 door and extended cab f150s that were modified by LA West with ground effects, hood and 20in wheels. But no superchargers. The 2 doors were called "Boss" and the extended cabs, "GTX". I still have my GTX. It was bone stock underneath body mods. Same bed as Lightning. It however nows has a HD supercharger (same as L only painted black) but I call it my Lightning Wantabe, ha, ha!

Nice truck! My wife would certainly like a running board like that. Many times I wished I had a stretch cab. You've taken good care of it.

You have 3 times the miles I have on mine, 70,000. It's a real fun toy.

Cobra, I seen one exactly like yours today. The trim really makes it pop. A picture doesn't do your truck justice.
