It's hugely common for this to happen. The worst is when someone is widowed and they want to have their loved one removed, and the rate jumps. I just leave them on.

It's a slap in the face to an already crappy situation.

Has anyone else noticed that they are now asking about education? I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I always claim I have the highest level education of the choices.

One of my late mothers friends has an insurance agency and carries most of the major brands. She has me set up with Travelers and they have given the most bang for the buck for over a deccade. She constantly finds the loopholes and ways to get the most coverage for the money.
The Mustang is basically overinsured to help cover the mods and because of sentimental value... (It was the last car my mom rode in. And when you are orphaned you hold tight onto memories of the past.)
But I have the house the stang and my escape.
My moms cousin does state farm and he cannot come close to touching it.

I got tired of the abuse I was getting from All-State about 9 months ago.

After 5-6 companies refused to offer home owners because of a wood burning stove in the detached garage (despite no issues with the one in my finished basement) I settled on Liberty Mutual, just bedore their big commercial push over the last few months...

Saved more than I thought possible on my auto (Shelby/15 f150/malibu at the time) and lowered my home owners a little despite increasing coverage for the wifes piece of mind and adding 10k in jewelry.

:edit- auto went from around 2200 a year for all 3 full coverage to roughly 1000:

Only downside is there is no local office. Closest is about an hour and a half, but have been super easy to deal with over the phone and online.

Just switched from Progressive to Auto Owners and saved $750/year and I have five vehicles with one being an antique. My F250 diesel 4x4 is the most expensive because of weight. Surprisingly the Mustang is the second cheapest behind my conversion van. When I was with Progressive last year and dropped my son after he got married it went down $350/year friggin thieves but still had the five cars with three drivers.
