Official 2019 Ford Ranger Dyno Test & Review - The Haul

IT’S HERE! IT’S FINALLY HERE! Americans have been deprived of new Ranger ownership
since production ceased in 2011 stateside. After a brief hiatus, the Ranger is back
and it’s time for you to decide whether it’s better than ever.

AmericanTrucks.com (AT) recently acquired their 2019 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCrew and
AT’s own Justin Dugan gave it a thorough once-over including a dyno test and test
drive. An expert in all things blue oval, JD provides his take on the
highly-anticipated Ranger and whether the 8-year wait was worth it.

Price would be a factor for me on the Ranger, but I have to admit it's a good looking Ford truck. I can see the mid-size attracting those who might not want a full-size truck. And the crew cab, as noted in the video, offers up decent interior space for a family.

I love the blue paint! I also love those painted 17" Raptorish wheels.

Time will tell how much of a hit this will be for Ford. Double/triple....or a home run.

the tuning numbers do look good. currently with discounts on f150's its hard for me to justify a Ranger. but i suspect that will change in the coming months.

A diesel option would have been nice to compete a little better with the Colorado. Even a 6-speed manual would have been a nice option, but I know that’s asking way to much these days.

I was very close to buying one but the lack of A/C seats and only a 4 banger available was a deal breaker

I think it looks awful. And considering you can get the 18 150 stx fx4 for mid 30’s why get a ranger?

Its a nice truck, but a terrible price. The whole reason people loved the rangers was it was a hell of a truck for the price. That is no longer true you get a better buy for an F150

Just wanted everyone to know if you want a tune we have a great engine and trans tune on the new 19 Ranger 2.3. We are seeing very impressive numbers out of this truck. Midway through the rpm band we saw an 80hp increase over stock to the ground. If interested message us or call us at 313-561-5500 thank you

Why do you need a 4 wheel dyno. Run it in 2wd and dyno it. Thats how 95% of the truck will be run anyway

As with any Dyno testing, it shows the maximum output under all stresses. Why wouldn't you want to see the four wheel performance under extreme testing. If the tools exist, use them.
