Im considering picking up a 95R and would like to know what fair prices are for these cars. I see listings as high as $50k and auction results as low as the high teens... difficult to judge what I should consider a fair price. Looking for something I can track, not a low mile garage queen. Its not the only car I am considering so Im trying to get a better understanding of the market on these. Thanks

The 95 has the lowest prices of the 3. If you want one with some miles on it, I’m thinking you’ll find one in the mid 20s.

I agree. The problem is finding someone willing to sell theirs right now for the mid-20s. The only cars listed lately have been by dealerships with lower miles well north of that. Some of the IMSA raced cars are listed higher. It depends what you are looking for.

Thanks guys. Mid 20s is what I was thinking. Unfortunately, most of the listings Ive seen recently are double that. Yes, 95Rs are the cheapest of the three but its the only one Im interested in. I dont want a junker but a tracked R, race car/ex race car, something with <50k miles would be just fine. It would get used, hard, as Ford intended. The current stable is getting stale, thinking it might be time to try one of the icons from my youth.

“Asking” prices are all over the place on 95’s, which makes me think the market is trying to decide what the car is actually worth, but I personally would not pay more than $20 - $25K for a clean fully documented car with under 20K miles. 3-4 years ago there were quite a few wrapper 95’s available for around $30K. Market has gone up a bit over the last 3-4 years, but I would say a wrapper 95 is worth somewhere in the high $30’s, low $40’s today, so I would work backwards from that number for values.

I use to own #26. Miles would be right. I think it stayed in Il. Is that the one you got? If so, PM me. I still have 214, a mostly track car, and I think mid 20s is about right for a mild sorted car.

You guys are nuts for pricing 95R's in the lower zone.

I have a 1995 Cobra R here with all of the paperwork, all of the history, and pictures.

It has the sticker from the Championship Year:

In addition, I have the entire history of the car in writing. This includes the original paperwork and other original paperwork.

The book value is around $25K. I have another set of wheels with sticker tires with a bunch of other parts.

It would take $30K to get me interested, and it is not for sell.

It seems that it's just an old car? It is one of 250.

Heck, I just looked at the prices in AZ in January at BJ. There is nothing better in a car but with a winning race history.

The current tax law does not allow 1031 exchanges. You are better to keep what you have than try to move on.

The 1995 Cobra R retailed at $36,500. It would take $60K in inflation dollars to buy one.

That is the price of a 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350.

Exactly why, yet again, cars should NEVER be considered "investments". Cars are for enjoyment. If they appreciate, so be it. VERY few will pay in the long run (disclaimer, sure there are a lot of cars that can be bought and sold for profit, but usually a hobbiest has an emotional attachment, that might cloud decisions)

I bought #73. It was listed on here for sale . Decent car but the more I dig into I’m thinking it was race early in its life.
