Been watching too much negativity on the news and listening to too many complainers lately. Are there any great towns left in America? What are your personal picks for the best town or city to live in or even around?

Utah. The entire state is pretty awesome. Anyone who hasn't been should go out there. It's got the 3Ts every man enjoys covered pretty well.

Pretty much the only city I want to live in, besides where I am now, is Bowling Green, KY.

I travel through there for work quite often. I'd like to hear your reasoning.

It appeals to the car nut in me. Corvette factory, Corvette test track, and if I drag raced, Beach Ben. It’s big enough to have things to do but not large enough that I don’t like it (hate big cities).

I avoid cities as much as I can.

Less people = less stress.

Brevard NC is one of my favorite towns to visit. You have a nearly panoramic mountain view, a quaint little downtown area that feels stuck in the 1950's. It's never crowded.

Depending on what my retirement savings looks like someday, I would either like to retire in Brevard (realistic), or Block Island RI (one can dream).

I looked at a nice retirement complex in Kennebunkport. No decision yet. I do hate the cold, but the area is nice and peaceful. Other than that every city I thought would be great to move to has dropped from my list for various reasons, most of them political/financial. WAY back I really wanted to move to southern California for retirement. Now, it's off the list for consideration. For now we're stuck here in Connecticut for personal reasons. I surely hope to move from this state before it gets any worse.

Newport RI. My parents keep their boats there. Tiny city but people from all over the globe know and visit it. Great bars. History.

I've been to so many places (21 years military).
I do not like cold, grew up in Green Bay, Wi.

My knee jerk reaction would be any town/city on the Pacific Coast Highway in Southern California.

Most people and laws in California are stupid. But the fresh air off the water and the scenery, vibe is truly amazing!

Charlotte NC and its surrounding towns like Concord, Mooresville, etc. The people are great, theres so much motorsports activity its ridiculous, Lake Norman, beautiful slow paced countryside, and all the restaurants, nightlife, etc you can ask for.
