Sorry...back on topic. My Dad’s father owned a beer distributor which he later sold to my Dad. All told they ran that business for 46 years until Dad retired. I worked there during high school and during breaks in college. Best job I ever had.

My Mom’s father was brewmaster for Duquesne Brewery and later for Iron City Brewing Company, where he formulated I. C. Light, which ended up saving the company from bankruptcy.

So...beer is flowing literally and figuratively through my veins.

-I am one of the illegitimate great great grandsons of Count Zeppelin of airship fame. My great great grandmother was his housemaid and he knocked her up and then proceeded to move her out of the estate, into town to get her away from his wife. The Zeppelin family still refuses to acknowledge the affair or illegitimate grandchild that he had, but it was well known.

-When I was 5 and my brother was 3 and potty training, he walked over to me in our family living room...his big brother... and bent over and asked me to check his buttocks to make sure he had properly cleaned the area. He then proceeded to unleash a maelstrom of hot brown liquid magma all over my face and upper extremities. I obviously began to shriek and cry, at which time my mother came to my aid and promptly began to puke in disgust. She grabbed me, clothes and all and put me in the shower to completely douse me. I'm 44 years old and remember this as vividly as if it happened yesterday. So...when people say they have been shit on, I can literally relate.

On Memorial Day 1998, a 16 penny nail caused an injury that resulted in a yard full of volunteer fireman, an ambulance ride, 23 staples, and 26 stitches at the ripe age of 12.

If I remember, I'll dig through old photo albums my mom gave me and see if I can find a picture.

Posts that he seen a dude and his melon split open after he fell. Not a single response.

Posts his neighbor does filthy porn, all the kudos.

**** me running, I love this place.

Lol

To be honest, I was going to ask about the tree trimmer but felt like I was getting suckered into something. Lol

My contribution to the thread: while still on active duty, I rode my Harley through the Officer’s Club at Camp Lejeune.

Looks like some Frankenteins monster patchwork maintenance there!
Must’ve been a gory mess...

Was the damage close to the artery in your arm?

The ER Doc showed my parents the artery while it was laid open, I didn't have the guts to look. 20 years later and that day is remembered as if it was yesterday.

I was a couple inches from possibly bleeding out in our garage. The 911 dispatcher kept asking if it was flowing or squirting blood and it didn't make sense until they explained it all.

I’m no doctor but I can definitely tell you got lucky.

My dad vividly remembers a childhood friend slicing the same area of his arm open when he pushed and broke a glass door after throwing water balloons...said there was blood everywhere...

I was told that the fact that I was a bit "husky" saved me from causing all kinds of structural damage to my muscles and tendons. There was even some fatty tissue left behind on the nail. The vividness of that day is ridiculous. I can barely remember what I had for lunch today.

Damnnnn, that's a crazy injury. How did it happen?

I have a similar injury on my left arm almost in the same spot. I was about 10 or 12 years old myself when I fell off a fence that I was walking along the top of. The bottom part was up, so the barbs were almost like a "w" shape. Ripped my arm as I fell to my feet. I didn't know anything happened till I looked at my arm. My brother immediately started panicking like crazy. My mom almost passed out when I showed her my arm and all the blood. It was pretty nasty. I could see flesh. lol
Needed 20 stitches outside and 8 stitches inside. I had to have a surgeon sew up the wound, the ER doctor couldn't do it.
What a scary and painful day that was. I'll never forget it.

Cant think of much trivia but seeing the arm injury reminded me of mine when I broke my left arm. Second time I broke it it I was 12 and riding dirt bikes when I hit a dip after not being able to see through a dirt cloud kicked up by a quad and I went over the handle bars and broke either the Radius or Ulna, I forget which one exactly but I think it was my Radius. So they rushed me to this doctor in the small town and they put me on a metal table I remember. They put an IV in me and put me on some nitrous and I remember the doctor coming in and telling me in order to reset it properly he was going to have to break the Ulna as well. So Im out of it but still feeling the painful pressure the broken bone is putting on my arm and the doc comes over and asks if Im ready. I'm saying "NO, NO, NO, NO!!!" and right then he puts my arm on the corner of the table and I feel the pressure building fast and then "SNAP!!" he breaks it and all the pressure I that was causing the pain went away and he reset it. Funny part is that my two friend who I was with were in the room when it happened and they said later that they almost puked when they saw it happen lol.

Then comes the 3rd time I broke it. This time was because the doctor that fixed my arm that second time didnt reset it perfectly so I was playing football the following year at school when I slipped and went down and my left arm broke the fall but snapped both bones again this time. Unfortunately my parents didnt have insurance at the time but I had a badass specialist doctor who said he would take care of it all. He said since I couldn't go to the ER that he could just give me a Vicodin and then come in the following morning and he would reset it and put a cast on it. So I had the broken arm for the whole day and night and then went in the next morning a little loopy from the Vic and he put me on the table and preceded to put my arm against his knee and slowly forced it back into place. I was bawling my eyes out because it was about 30sec of pure torture, but it worked, and my arm has been strong ever since... that or I learned just to never fall on it again lol.
