Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had ever tried a square setup on the18" oem gt500 wheels. Maybe some good rubber 285/40/18 all the way around on the 9.5s? Better handling? Especially for the front heavy gt500?

I drive my car often, sometimes getting caught in the rain also. I don't really want to go the drag radial route. Thoughts? And pics if anyone has done it please.

Will bump your thread for you. I was kind of wondering similar but regarding the SVTPP wheels. Using the 19" fronts on all fours. (I have a spare set...)

I run a square setup on 18x9.5 (non-stock) wheels on the track - 275/40/18. Rides great and handles great for HPDE, so I'd assume the setup would work well for the street too.

Wow! Great timing for the thread! I was wondering if a squared setup on non-pp 19"s would be feasible. I am hoping that 285's wouldn't be too much in the front. I almost never go full lock unless backing into a parking spot.

I'm running 285/35-20s on the front. I"ve also run a 285/40-19 up front with no issues. On a shorter wheel diameter like an 18", it could be a little tighter with strut clearance.

Yes you can run a square setup on the OEM rims just fine. I run 285/40 R18 up front with no clearance issues.

Yes, it's lowered, not so much with the 285/40s.

Here is the 285/35-20.

This is the 285/40-19.

The 20" diameter wheel is 10x20 and the 19" is 9.5x19. Offset on both are +44 mm.
