High horsepower (let's say 700+) guys; do you ever regret it?

I’m hoping I get to enjoy my tune/4.10 ‘13 Shelby this year. Just ordered some NT555Rs yesterday.

On 305 series goodyears, the car just wasn’t all that rewarding to drive as it struggled for grip all over the RPM range.

I do miss being able to romp on my 13 second 2V and not worry about felonies...

I had the exact same experience except even colder. Did an involuntary lane shift on the highway. It stays in the garage unless >60 which sadly is only like 28 days a year in MN.
Involuntary lane shifts are the nemesis of a clean pair of underwear

I kind of get what op is trying to say.. Long time ago I was having fun in 180hp celica needed more power. Fast forwards to today 670hp+ hp viper still wanting more power..... triple digit speeds are a lot easier to achieve now so the chances of getting into bigger trouble goes up for sure with all that power on tap. I guess horsepower is like a drug in a way its never enough. When people start spinning in 2 wheel drive set up they turn to all wheel drive set ups , just look at lambo guys is the prime example with almost 2000hp turbo cars.

The rain part was the most shocking thing about the continentals. I was like holyshit I cannot believe I am driving in the rain under heavy part throttle....
Lol yes dude. I had the same tires before the car got turbo's and I could seriously do pulls in the rain and it hooked. I was like damn this is pretty cool hahah.

To add to the thread; I really enjoyed my car with bolt ons. The shit I went through with the ON3 kit on the whole installation deal, issues after it was finished, and the money spent I wish I would had went a different route. Was it fun? Hell yes, that much power with 3.73's and the MT82 made for a hell of a car to **** around in. The fact it had full exhaust too, nobody knew it was what it was when they pulled up on the highway. If I could have done it over again, I would have went an entirely different route though. I don't regret having the power. 700hp these days is not shit really. It's very viable to drive around and be safe in, but things can get serious when you wanna have fun. I can't wait to get another car someday and make more power than my old car did.

These posts x65000. Things escalate so fast at these power levels, that's all I'm saying.

I do, but I'm not retarded and do it in bad weather, or cold temps, because I'm not a reckless moron.

He openly admitted to driving it over his daily in poor conditions, because the daily is boring...totally ignoring the issues the Mustang has in those conditions. Guess risking others on the road, because you had to have fun in cold temps, will hold up in a court well.

Ya I hear ya but maybe I took it differently that he drives appropriately for the weather. I don’t take mine out in any rain because of the tires and I don’t want some other asshat hitting me

Rain, snow, and below 50-60, I'm using my truck. Not going to risk my car or anyone else, because I don't find my daily to be exciting. Difference between an adult and child.

But you're just asininely assuming that I'm trying to push my car's limits in those poor conditions, which I'm not. When driven appropriately, like I would my Accord if I were driving it, it's just as safe and practical. I would even say I drive slower and more cautiously just because the Mustang means so much to me and would be a hassle to replace/replicate.

I'm honestly not sure where inclement weather even came into play at this point, other than it's something for you to argue and hassle me about.

my cars aren't super high HP, I still think they are fun as shit. They can still get me in trouble. I used to be on street bikes....get me in even more trouble. Now I'm older and really don't care LOL. I just want a little power every now and then. A good stereo and a comfortable seat ...

Isn’t that why big power turbo guys have the boost controller on a switch for 700 on street and 1200+ for track

If I were making 1,000+ then sure, but even if I put the car on gate it's still gonna make 650-700 rear wheel (on E). On 93 and gate (8-9lbs I think) it makes 625. I just have to come to terms that if I take the chance and play around, a well placed cop can and probably will ruin the next couple of years of my insurance and license (ultimately my fault). Lol

It's a love hate relationship.

What one considers high horsepower is relative. I still consider 500 and 600 horsepower cars fast and at the edge of felonies in seconds of acceleration. Lol

Kid now? Sorry I won't sit back and take being called a reckless moron on the simple grounds that you don't agree with me driving my Mustang everyday, because in your mind it's inherently more dangerous than a Honda Accord, even when driven appropriately.

You do know a twin turbo Coyote doesn't make any kind of power below 3K and 1/2 throttle, right?

Whatever you say, you know better than everyone.
