I'm at my wits end. I have a '14 Vert with No Nav. From I Phone, Google or Apple Maps would automatically connect and play the directions thru the speakers, for about 1.5 years, and also play my music from the phone. It slowly all went away, did all the updates and went to multiple Dealers. So yesterday Dealer replaced ALL the modules and re-programmed, still doesn't work, and the car also mutes the directions from the Phone alone. Tried it wireless and when plugged into the USB Port, basically same result, nothing.

When I call up Bluetooth Audio it will now sometimes play the music from my Phone. Maddening... I do have the latest Sync update installed , and latest Apple up-date.. I also went to the Phone store and had them Ck. my Phone settings, said I am set correctly.

Any ideas, advice appreciated.. Thank-you

I feel your pain, and wish I could recommend a fix, but early generations of SYNC (like ours) were/are garbage. Doesn't matter if you're using Android or iPhone - our Ford/Microsoft venture (that was updated a few times) is probably the worst-functioning car entertainment system I've ever used. The Bluetooth connectivity in my 2013 Toyota Tacoma (that's never even been updated) connects and functions flawlessly with all the phones my wife and I have owned. The Shelby worked most of the time when I first upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S7, but functionality degraded with every telephone update I installed.

Thanks Mr. Norton. The weird thing is the car mutes the directions from the phone too, so that isn't an option either. Talked to a fellow '14 owner at a show a few weeks ago and he said the maps play fine from I Phone thru his speakers.
Wish mine did.. Thanx

That would be aggravating Ray... I have a 13 and mine has worked great with my Iphone thus far. I do have NAV, but so far, so good. I hope you get it figured out.

Thank-you Guys. Was on the Chat line with Ford yesterday, made it worse, had me dump the Phone and I think I got it re-paired, very frustrating. Did try other I phones, same result with my car. When I call up Bluetooth Audio it only plays the music from my Phone, even if the Map App is the only one running.

Do you have a newer iPhone? Seems like the newer iphones have the most issues.

I've had issues with Android phones/software that were/are older or newer than the version of SYNC in use. I had an older Motorola Android when I took delivery of my '13 GT500. Despite updating SYNC and the phone, I experienced a lot of (Bluetooth) anomalies until I upgraded to a Galaxy S7. It worked relatively well following the next SYNC update, but (Bluetooth) reliability declined with successive phone updates. (We saw our last SYNC update years ago.)

Thats odd, when i had my 2014 fusion and st my android phones worked great with sync 2. Both had nav too and running before i traded them in v. 3.10. My Phones were all Samsung note 4, S8+

SYNC generations/versions are somewhat confusing but, as I understand it, '13/'14 MY GT500s got SYNC Gen 1. (Fusions got MyFord Touch / SYNC2 starting in the '13 MY.) Mustangs didn't get MyFord Touch / SYNC Gen 2 until the '15 MY. Sync 3 finally became available in the '16 MY. Those I know with later versions of SYNC tend to be happier with its performance.

Sync is pretty nice. But i have to say i did like my ford touch/sync 2. It worked pretty well for me.
