Un-“My Keying” a Key without Master Key

Long story short,

My home is a black hole.

My possessions have no safe place and between my wife reorganizing and my kids doing whatever the hell they do... I can’t find my main key.

2 years ago I lost it and found it in a sweatshirt... but it’s gone this time.

Do I have to go to Ford to turn my “My Key” into a normal one?

(I’ve exhausted my search for the good key)

Use to be if the “master” was missing that u would have to purchase a new key so that u would have a total of 2 keys again and then reset the pats in the bcm which wipes all old known keys and then learns the 2 “new” keys

Most dealers charge u for the new key and 1 hour labor. At least that’s what we charged when I work at 1.

If you have 2 good keys you can program more keys but without 2 you can't do anything.

Good news.

After 4 short weeks, my wife looked in her crochet bag....and found the key.

Figured I wouldn’t share for those od you who couldn’t stand the suspense.

Now get out there and get a couple of flip keys and put the originals in a safe place. One word of caution about safe places, don't ever put something you ever want to find in a place were someone will never think about looking. I can guarantee that you will be that someone. Don't ask me how I know.
