Its not even remotely a race car lol... Its a STREET car that does good on the track. The 350-rc is a race car

You're right. It is not a full blown race car. My point still is that Ford's design eye on the GT500 Track Pack is really about functionality over worry about what bits may get stolen. There's where the aftermarket comes in ifyam. A vender will come up with a solution.

I am happy this thread has already shown my preferred color. This Blue looks awesome! I prefer this version with the smaller spoiler (though if you are reading these posts FoMoCo, I would REALLY prefer the option for the 350R Blade for aesthetic purposes)View attachment 1572604 me:

Agreed. Great color and the lower profile rear spoiler has a much cleaner look IMHO.

And again, theft can occur anywhere. If your CF wing and CF wheels were taken while the car was parked in your driveway would you still be talking about baby formula? The wing hardware can be removed in seconds. Security hardware would at least slow things down but it would seem Ford has little interest in that. Seriously, the wing fasteners can be put in two different locations. How often do you think you'd be adjusting your wing or would it be a one time thing and forget it? At that point, wouldn't you think it prudent to protect what is likely a 10k+ wing from disappearing from your car?

There are risk factors ranging from very low - very high associated with everything. If you want to go get baby formula at super walmart in you GT500 Track Pack, the risk factor would be higher than leaving your GT500 Tack Pack parked in your driveway for the same amount of time. It's just common sense by comparing the volume of traffic. Imo, Ford cannot be expected to cover every contingency that might happen to a GT500 Track Pack car in the wild. The aftermarket exists for a reason.

I'll refer to the above post when the web is saturated from any report of a CF Track Pack wing or wheels is stolen.

The ZTK wing (ZR1 Track). 8 screws. Each one being 5 point security torx. A bit widely available. With a little cordless you can get the whole wing and risers in 1 minute I bet. GM really stepped their game to protect that wing.

Well, tamper proof torx fasteners is still a bit better than regular allen head bolts to attach these parts, maybe McGard, Gorilla and those types of companies can see a market where they can offer something to protect these CF wings from being easily stolen. Since info spreads fast on the net a person that is heading out to steal these items will have the proper tools at the ready to make it disappear quick from your car.

Basically, any fastener will have a tool or something to fasten/remove it. Anything that will be avail for the owner of this car with the CF stuff to protect it from being easily stolen will be avail to the lowlifes out there wanting to part these items from your ride.

If I have this car or a ZTK ZR1 I'm keeping a mini tool set in the car to easily remove that wing if I know I'm parking it somewhere that I don't want the wing to disappear, that's why the afkt should make a cheapie wing that looks like the CF one and they can steal that off your car instead of the real thing.

personally if I had a CF TP car I would have the dealer not mount it and leave the wing in the garage and devise a way to swap the base car's wing for street use.

..even if I had to go as far as getting a spare rear deck to do it right.

You guys must have missed the memo stated earlier in this thread. The CF Track Pack GT500 should never be taken to WalMart and should only be driven on a track. That way the wing/wheels could never possibly be stolen.

If all else fails, have the wheels and wing laser etched with the VIN or paint them pink, just don't park it at a Walmart in San Francisco.

The color is off but the article Steve did is easily the best underhood look yet.

Sounds like the rain tray is aluminum and not plastic or composite. And Steve mentions the hood pins as coming from Watson. I suspect somebody from Ford told him that. The hood pins are coming from Quick-Latch.

Hmm.. is this article correct that the filter box is open in the fender?
It's the way he worded it. The box is fed from the opening in the grille.

ON EDIT: Talked to Steve this morning. Sounds like Watson is indeed supplying the pin in the hardware kit that Quick-Latch makes for Ford. The pin has the freedom to move a small amount in order to be "self-centering."
