Recently purchased a 2011 gt 500 with all the mods and tune listed below installed.

I have noticed if I am cruising down the highway in 5 or 6th around 1500 to 2200 rpm, and try to get on it the car bogs down/cuts out. I have also had it happen in 3rd gear as well if the rpms are in the 1200-1700 range. If I let off the gas and lightly ease back into the car accelerates fine, but if I get into the throttle to much it will bog/cut out. If I start in 1st or 2nd and get on it the car revs and pulls without any hesitation.

I am currently on a 1000ish mile road trip so I have ran through several tanks of gas. I have tried traction control off as well as sport mode on.

Could it be a bad tune? Admittedly I haven't done much research on the tuners and how they work. Could it be it didn't install correctly on the car? Perhaps returning to stock tune and trying to reinstall the cookie cutter tune would help?

Thanks for any and all help

Mods:
Jlt Intake
Sct tunner
Pulley upgrade

Stop getting on it and get it retuned ASAP before you blow your motor.

Have you had the tune checked or just bought it and was told it was ‘tuned’?

Thanks for the responses. Just purchased and currently on the trip back with.

Will do some research on the tuner and schedule a tune from local tuner.

Is there a reason why you mention getting it tuned before blowing the motor?

Does it sound like lean symptoms or is there something else I’m missing. Just looking for more details.

Thanks for your help.

Could definitely be lean or be running too advanced timing for the fuel in the car. You won’t know until you data log the car. The car sputtering under boost is not good. Something is off and your knock sensors are probably pulling as much timing as possible to save the motor. Which is only 1 degree if under a stock tune. Bad things happen very quickly under wide open throttle if not tuned correctly.

Yep drive home out of boost and schedule retune ASAP. If you plan on mods that will require a tune, how’s the time.
