Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself and share my new Terminator that I picked up a couple weeks ago. 2004 Screaming Yellow coupe with just over 31k miles. I got it from the second owner who had it for the last 13 years and ~27k miles. It is completely stock, right down to the spoilers on the wiper blades, and has never seen snow and always garaged. It's pretty clean but really needs a full detail to pop the way it should. Better pics to come once that is done.

No mod plans for now, just going to enjoy getting to know the car and taking it out for cruises. Stock Terminators seem to be pretty rare these days so it may just stay stock. I really like the way the 18in repro rims look though...

Any suggestions on maintenance that I should look at doing? The previous owner only gave it oil changes every other year (~3k miles) and didn't do anything else in the way of preventative maintenance. I'm going to take care of the air filter but wasn't sure if there was anything else - miles are low but it's still a 15 year old car.

Thanks guys!

Welcome and congrats on getting the fastest color. Is that a MN plate?

Thanks! To be honest, yellow would never be my first choice (or second, or third...) but damn do these cars wear it well.

Nice eye - yes it's still wearing the previous owner's MN plates, that's why I blurred it out. It's hanging out in the Chicago suburbs with (significantly more expensive) IL plates now.

Nice pic up. I like the yellow cars.

As for maintenance I would change all the fluids. Even the oil. Also change out the spark plugs and fuel filter. Then you know where you're starting from.

Thanks! As for fluids, you're saying trans fluid and diff fluid, I assume? Coolant as well? Engine and intercooler?

Yes, I believe he is as all fluids have a lifespan. I would also change the brake fluid. I'm assuming that fluid has never beeen changed and is probably pretty dirty.

Nice purchase by the way and welcome. Lots of knowledge here so please feel free to ask questions

And thank you for referring to the car as a Terminator. Too many new guys think shorting the name is acceptable.

Congratulations on buying your SY Cobra, and welcome to SVTP! Yeah, it is rare to find a all-stock Terminator nowadays. Enjoy it!

Welcome to the party, glad you could make it.
Nice car, rare to see them pretty much stock nowadays. I’d like to find a SY Mach 1 one day.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the comments, really excited about this car.

Just wanted to let you all know my hunch was correct - the previous owner did basically no maintenance. If anyone has interest in a factory air filter with 31k miles on it, let me know!

Also wondering what you all thought of oil on the valve cover. I found the intake pretty loose on the throttle body and it looks like the underside of the intake tube may be the origin of the oil but I can't be sure. The inside of the throttle body looks clean but the inside of the intake tube does have an oil coating on it as well. Thoughts?

Nice! You will love it! I would however replace you idlers with Metco's and possibly a Metco Aux Tensioner. If you do go above stock power you will need them because they shear easily. Mine left me stranded on a hard 3rd gear pull once.

Very nice! It took me awhile to find my Screaming Yellow Terminator. They are hard to find with only 299 made. I have vidoes on just about anything you’d want to know on these cars. If you aren’t familiar with my channel check it out!

SY wasn't my first color choice, but I have grown to love mine a lot. Shine her up and wear it proud, real men can rock yellow.
