Just watched that and thought about posting it as well. I really want Ford to bring the RS200 back as a Miata/BRZ/FRS fighter. With Ken's influence with it I think they could sell plenty but it is not the market for a car like that anymore unfortunately, and R&D on a mid engine AWD would be astronomical I imagine. Ford has plenty of turbo 4 cylinders that could go in it though. It would be so cool to have a reimagined one brought back to life with more engineering put in it since these were basically slapped together to get it homologated for WRC.

Man I always thought Ken Block must party hard and was an old looking 36. Dude is 51. He'll be 70 years old and still drifting around.

A bit insulting to the RS200's heritage to be compared to those cars haha. Thing was in a league of its own and id imagine a new one would be like the lancia stratos they just re-made

Agreed, but they are the closest thing I could compare it to in size and what market a base model would compete in. Back then the base model had a lot of horsepower for it's weight but it was only the EVO that put out astronomical numbers and is still one of the quickest accelerating cars to date. Make the base model with about 270hp using the 2.0l EB motor, AWD, 3k lb curb weight, and a 6 speed, but then have the Ford Performance RS200EVO using the 2.3 with a forged motor and bigger turbo making 450-500hp and an option of a 6 speed or the 7 speed DCT, lighter weight with high use of carbon fiber for sub 3k lbs curb weight (target 2800lbs or less), and give it a $60-70k price tag. The EVO would be more of a GTR and 911 competitor at that point with the power to weight ratio and drivetrain layout. The base model would support most of the sales but the EVO would be the true performer and purpose of bringing the car back. There really wouldn't be much that could compete with it.

The original design grows on you but they could make a new one look incredible as the overall shape of the car is really cool looking. I would love to see even a rendering of what a new one could look like.

Well your ideas imo, are on point, quite out of the league of the miata/frs world though. As for looks it should look damn near the same, just slightly modernized like the 05/06fgt was.

I was shocked too when I found out how old he actually is. The gymkhana files he started talking about his age.

I agree. Update the headlights and taillights some for a slightly less "froggy" look, but still incorporate the rounded headlights but maybe with an addition to it that makes it not just round only... plus it obviously has to have its own unique LED daytime running light strip like all the cool cars have anyways.
