Long tubes are in. I definitely feel the difference in power down low. Saying that, the H pipe I went with (was originally catted, but the cats were gutted) is pretty quiet. I wasn't a big fan of the raspy Bassani O/R X pipe I was using with the shortys, but this H pipe is too quiet. If I come across a cheap X pipe I'll pick it up and see how that sounds with the long tubes. I can still heat a difference in the growl the long tubes give, though. My X brace is lower than the collectors on the long tubes so I'm happy about that. View attachment 1503335

Well, it's been a while since I've done anything to my Mustang, but that's going to change. Friday coming home from work I spun a rod bearing, again. Now I'm back to where I started with this thing. What luck...

I'm deciding what to do with it. Either paying it out, selling it as is, forged and blown 4V, or Coyote swap. I guess it depends on what fits my budget.

check the classifieds and FB pages, im sure you can build up a nice 4v motor with whats out there these days.
I'm leaning this way, the Coyote swap seems to be a little out of my budget.

I recently saw a complete blower to oil pan Terminator engine sell for $4,000. I know I want to make some power because my old B head 4V was weak as shit. If I go with another 4V it'll be C heads and FI for sure.

Yup, I vote 4V as well.
If it were a 94-95, I'd say go ahead with the Coyote swap. But 96-98s need that 4V (in my opinion)
If you sell it you will regret it.
I would have never considered a Coyote swap in a Cobra, but I'm tired of spinning rod bearings. I'd be so pissed if I dropped a couple grand into an engine and had that happen again.

Well, I found a 98 Mark VIII engine with 77,000 miles on it for $300 that I'm going to pick up on Saturday. I also found a Cobra R hood for $100 that comes with a new set of Ford Racing hood pins.
I guess next week I'll start pulling the engine... AGAIN!
I have to replace my input shaft and tailshaft bushing in my T45 so once I pull the engine I'll do that, too.

Got screwed over on the hood, but I picked up the 98 Mark VIII engine today. I'll start ordering all the gaskets and seals, pilot bearing, crossover tube O-rings, and I'll have to figure out what I'm going to do for a trans.

Removed the wiring harness, intake manifold, vacuum harness, and some of the front accessories. I'm thinking I might as well go ahead with a C head swap while I'm here. I have a set of heads that have to go out and get machined and I'd get a set of aluminum timeserts installed.

I'm going to do a C head swap before I drop this engine in. I'm picking up a set of DA 03 Mach 1 heads, alternator bracket, and throttle body on Saturday. I bought a 99/01 Cobra intake manifold. I still need the head changing kit and the B head upper lid to C head lower adapter plate to finish the C head swap and then a bunch more stuff to get the engine in. If really like to get it done by the end of the July.

I have a cart on Rock Auto with over $600 worth of parts in it. I'm picking up a Hanlon Performance rebuilt TR3650 that's coming with a McLeod clutch, 2 piece aluminum flywheel, and a Steeda TriAx shifter. The rebuild is just their basic rebuild with the updated parts (including the double pinned forks).
