Long story short. My 10:1 aluminator needs rebuilt.. worn rings.

I will be running a 2.3 TVS on e85. With goals of 700-750 rwhp. I have the supporting mods just need to rebuild. Gen 3+ 2.9 whipple in the future.

What are some must dos that ABSOLUTELY need done when rebuilding one

Things I have ordered already

-custom cams from Kurgan.
-melling oil pump
-arp hardware

I plan to reuse rods and crank. Diamond pistons to retain a 10:1 ratio.

What should I considering doing while the motor is out and on a stand?

Sounds like you're just doing a freshen up. Since 750 is possible on stock components I'd say just clean and inspect everything. Maybe upgrade the secondary tensioner. I think it's the one on the passenger side that needs to be flipped. Following that train of thought maybe upgrade the pivot dowels as well.

Beyond that I would inspect and replace as needed. Including valve seals.

Main studs, head studs, IW dampner, ARP reusable side bolts, 7 quart pan and windage tray, King bearings, CNC port the heads?

First thing to do is determine why it needs rings in the first place. That way you wont have to rebuild it again so soon.

Yeah.. bad luck I guess and dumb on my part for buying site unseen without any type of inspections lol

Well, hopefully everything goes smooth during the repair process. With all the issues I've had with mine, and with the current idling problems, I am starting to wish I would have just bought a 13-14 GT500. Hopefully those thoughts go away once I have it running right.

Double key or stud the crank, Billit oil pump gears, ARP 2000 everything, cam bolts, crank, studs, side bolts, rod ect. Innovator's west crank pulley, new idlers and tensioner on the inner belt, new timing set, poly motor mounts, and powdercoat for looks.
