DEARBORN, Mich., June 19, 2019 – Venomous strike: The all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will produce 760 horsepower and 625 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful street-legal Ford ever – with the most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 engine in the world.

Enough said.

How could it not apply... My wife's tuned / 3.55 geared 3.7 v6 mustang could spin 275 Nitto Invos and you're trying to tell me people are launching / powershifting a 707 HP Hellcat on 275 street tires with NO intervention from electronic aids... There's where your "Right" comment belongs. Look at just about every modern "performance" car and it has a launch control mode that will hold revs and work the stability control for you off the line. It most cases these days it really is just put your foot down and go.

Compares v6 mustang to 760 hp gt500, or in my case a 900+ whp mustang.

Just stomp the gas and gooooooooo! It’s easy!

Like I said....I can’t wait to see all the 12 second 2020 gt500’s being released into the wild very soon at a track near you.

The car will be capable of 10’s I’m sure, but that will be the exception I’m afraid, not the rule.

Did you even read what I wrote? Comparing a v6 mustang and 700, 800, 900 whp car is EXACTLY the point, when a v6 mustang can spin the same tires a Hellcat comes equipped with... No way those cars are being launched without electronic nannies / intervention.

You’ve got it all wrong, home slice! Even with a modern auto, it is not just point and shoot. The driver must know his car very very well in order to squeeze the most performance out of it.

I’ve seen two guys drive the same 10 sec GTR. The owner, got every ounce of performance out of it. 10 sec car at the strip. The other guy ( friend who was a very experienced street racer / driver) was stuck in the 11s with it.

The whole “point and shoot” is why so many fail at racing.

I sure did. See below.

This guy gets it.

Lost_M will be the first to get that rude awakening when he finds out why an inexperienced tester on a shitty surface got a time better than what he can manage at a prepped dragstrip. LMAO!!!!

Interesting, since ive set platform records with other cars, but i guess on svtp, we don't deal in real life ;)

You’ve been quite in the know in past posts, shell out some of the experience race bonefidies you have had. The internet is full of trolls trolling trolls trolling trolling about trolling trolls.

I’ve been positive of most of your posts prior so I’ll vouch that in general I’ve seen you have imperical and seat of the pants experience to back up your talking points

Yo King Arthur with your medieval bolder metaphors, a Demon is a 1500 pound boulder going 1500 mph and the GT500 is pebble tossed by a girl. How’s that?

Basically same weight, down 80 horses and wait for it, wait for it, down 145 lb ft of torque! Demon 8-speed vs 7-speed. Both automatic so not much driver skill required from roll. Boys it’s going to be comical.

Yo slippered troll! What up b! As king, lemme shit on your parade and say your demon needs to put up or shut up with all your shit talking bro, don’t make me come down there with my old ass shit and show you what comical is

I think we’ll see Easy 10’s from the gt500. I think it has the potential to beat demons pump gas to pump gas drag radials to drag radials.

I know a tuned e85 or racegas gt500 will go well into 140mph territory. I haven’t seen a demon run 140 yet save the dodge video. It’s been 2 years, I’d like to see a private owner at least match the 9.65@140.

Ford makes claims like “03 cobra runs 12.9@110” then the car goes 12.43@116 in a hero run

“2013 gt500 goes 11.6@125” then the car goes 11.1@130 in private hands hero run.

“2013 boss 302 goes 12.4@113” then it goes 11.9@118 private hands hero run.

Dodge goes “2012 srt8 auto challenger does 12.0@115!” Then it goes 12.0@114 in hero run private hands a year later

Dodge says demon goes “9.65@140!” Then it 9.7@137 private hands a year later...

Truth is Ford under promises and dodge promises exact potential.

If ford says this thing runs mid high 10’s in good conditions I think we’ll see a low 10 or tip top 9 at some point.

If the car busts out a 10.5@135 in magazines then hero runs will be in the 9’s near or at 140. If it runs 10.8@132 in magazines, then hero runs will be low 10’s at 137+ imo.

This is the internet and speculation runs wild, bottom line the car isn’t slow. Buy with confidence what you want. No on in here would turn down buying a demon and a gt500 and a zl1 if we had 8 figure bank accounts
