Curious if anyone has installed the fosters supercharger mod with a PMAS DD149 intake. From what i read install wise for the supercharger mod is you are to install the tube close to the MAF. Since the PMAS uses the metal mass air housing seems unwise to try and put it there. Just was unsure if there are any adverse effects to placing the tube closer to the throttle body in the plastic portion of the intake tube. Ill be jumping up to either the DD149 or the JLT super big air soon. My preference is the DD149 just for ease of tuning but I would really like some more blower whine. As tacky as that sounds I may go with the JLT 148 just so I can get what I want lol. I finally got the exhaust how I want so I dont want to quite it down but as it sits it overpowers any noise the 3.4 whipple is making Could also be a result that im still only using a 3.375 pulley and not spinning the blower hard enough for it to scream. Still seems odd its so quite to me.

You seriously want to spend $145 to make the blower louder inside the car? I guess if that’s your thing, have at it, but I would not recommend drilling anywhere into the PMAS. It’s designed with a bell mouth for a reason and adding any kind of obstruction of velocity disruption would be counter productive.

I’d drill into the plastic part of the tube rather than the MAF housing. I don’t see any issues with it, have at it.

Surprised you guys haven’t heard of this. These things are insanely popular on the coyotes with blowers lol not my thing

Non Facebook crowd.
I also had to google.
Makes sense to enhance the driving experience but I’d rather just pulley down to make the SC scream from producing more power!
My Hellcat has more blower whine stock than my Shelby did by far.
DD149 or JLT 148 both overkill unless you’re making 800+hp

I had to look it up as well, never seen it before. I won’t hate on it....these TVS blowers are quiet. Tack a loud exhaust setup and cams on and there’s no whine to be heard at all, I miss it.

I don’t see how this is any different than swapping out your mufflers. There are no performance gains to be had there, but nobody gets any shit for it, and this is a fraction of that cost.

Im not gonna lie.... i ordered this after you posted it. I miss the sounds my car used to make in the cabin with the stock eaton. I didnt know there was a kit for gt500s. My buddy has this on his tvs s550 and it is incredibly loud..... i will post in this thread with my results.

I’m thinking about ordering it myself. I was out tonight doing a couple data logs....with windows down I no longer hear any whine at all and it sucks.

Yep, I paid for the blower I want to hear it lol. Yeah I wouldn't drill into the bell mouth that wouldn't make sense and would defeat the purpose of having it like you said. Their website says its to be installed near the MAF sensor which doesn't work with the PMAS. So I was more asking if having it further back in the plastic portion of the intake could cause any adverse affects. I understand this is 100% a novelty thing. I just wouldn't want to do anything that could inhibit the cars performance or make tuning data dirty somehow which is my main concern.

I cant go any smaller on the pulley with the stock bottom end, or atleast i don't think lund will let me drop down to a 3.25. I bought a larger blower (3.4 WHIPPLE) to start as Ill be building the motor in the winter so Ill be able to take advantage of the larger blower and spin it to the moon. Just slowly building up the car to be where I want in once the new engine is dropped in, fully aware its not exactly efficient at this point in time which I'm okay with. Im probably making between 750-800 right now with my trap speeds. hellcats have stupid loud whine, have a video racing one and you can hear his blower over both of our cars exhausts. Made me jealous.

Had you tried removing your hood blanket before going in your wallet ??

I had this thought to, but I just put a aftermarket hood on and it made no substantial difference sadly.

I really think it is probably due to the fact that Im not spinning this blower hard its just not going to make the cool noises since its barely even working hard lol. As I know its a little outside its ideal efficiency range till the engine gets built so $145 is like pocket change compared to that expense.

I would venture to say that it has to be installed BEFORE the MAF sensor itself. The air that is being rerouted, while not much, would already be accounted for by the ecu if it passes the MAF sensor before being routed into that tube thing. I don’t think it would cause major issues, but it could result in some tuning issues. If you’re going to install it, do it before the MAF, or ask your tuner and see if he thinks it will be a problem behind it.

I was wondering about this as well, but all of the installation pics and vids on Foster's website, in addition to every clip on YouTube, show the sound tube installed after the MAF. Not sure if it would make a difference since the sound tube is sealed on the other end. There's no air getting in or coming out.
