The bearings in the front of the Eaton are starting to go bad. They are making quite a bit of noise. So the car has been parked for a few weeks now. Needless to say its killing me. :(

I am 99% sure I can rebuild the snout myself. I have the kit that I bought from ZZ Performance. The belt is off. The pulley is off. The oil is drained. All of the bolts are loosened. But that ONE bolt at the bottom.....

I saw where someone else cut the head off and replaced it with a stud/washer/nut. Thats the route I want to go. But there's just not enough room for the blade of a reciprocating saw to move around. And I bought one that only travels 1/2". Apparently he did it. I seem to be marring up the parts around the bolt more than I am cutting into the bolt.

I know some have cut the I/C manifold hose attachment about 1/2". I'd really rather not do that. But it really seems like about the only practical way to get this done.

Has anyone else ever done this?

How much more is left to just pull the blower and work on it on the bench versus messing up parts on the car?

A lot more than just getting this one bolt out.

I've never removed the snout before. Its easy...minus that one bolt. I've also never removed the supercharger before. Doesn't look impossible but doesn't look easy relatively speaking either. Especially since I have the MM strut tower bar installed. Which I couldn't do myself. I paid a car fabricator to do it. He told me once he was done that he hopes I never have to remove it.

The entire ordeal is super annoying.

Do you have to remove the blower to remove the intercooler manifold adapter? If I can just get that off then I can get the snout off.

No. But I think you either need to remove the pulley bridge or slide it forward.

Remove intake to head bolts, lift the front of blower up and support it to get access to i/c manifold bolts
