Just curious if anyone has done this yet? Is it even worth while, I contacted whipple and they said approx 2200 USD to take my gen 2 and turn it into a gen 4. Would a person be better off selling the gen 2 and just buying a new gen 4? Or if not going big booat #s would it even be worth the upgrade? Curious what you guys think and if anyone has upgraded one yet.

Might as well wait since the gen 5 is supposed to be around the corner.

Beyond that I'd say if you're happy with the car currently leave it alone. Unless you're one of the ones that needs the latest and greatest.

to answer your first question i think the gen 4 is a great blower and will make substantially more power than your gen 2. it will also do it easier too.
second: yes you would be better off selling and just buying a new one.
third: if you arent going big boost it you will have decide what "worth" it is. it will make more power and do it at lower boost. is that worth 2k, thats on you.
the right size blower has been discussed on here alot lately and there are different lines of thought. personally if you arent doing big boost, 22lbs+, id stick with a 2.3. if no e85 then that will be your limiting factor regardless of blower

The guy that bought my mystichrome put a gen 4 on it when it had a gen 2. I dont think he has any numbers yet.

But it made 720 with a gen 2 on e85..

If you sell your 2.9..I'm kinda in the market

Was thinking over winter car is built engine ported heads cams running pump right now but race fuel on track days with more boost. I heard the gen 5 is going to be actually a 3.0L.
I like the idea of same boost with better efficiency would make it run cooler and most likely make a touch more power. My car made 730 on 18psi pump gas tune.

Not a latest and greatest type but I sure like the idea of more power cooler temps and higher efficiency. Eve running same boost levels I would assume more longevity in the setup.

Whenever. I have a TVS now but would prefer the 2.9.

Send a PM. I'm in no rush but always looking.

If there is indeed a gen 5 is like to see what it offers I know for the coyote set ups the gen 5 is going to flip the cooler to the top so it can be bigger. I'm guessing that's not going to happen with our platform

If it's just on pump gas boost levels, I'd say no. But if you can run E85/race fuel every so often and really send the gen4 into the 800+ range....

Do it, one of the first gen4 guys dynoed at whipple and made 800+ rwhp, then went to a independent shop and made like 100rwhp less. Be nice to have more comparison data.

If you can't achieve your needs with a Gen3...…..than you need to be looking at turbo kits
