$37-$40K.....my stomach hurts now.

If I sell all the older parts I am holding, might could recoup $8K-ish

What's the most money you've spent modifying one particular car?

If it's a ground up build or restoration please note that, so it doesn't skew results.

On my current ACR I've spent $17,000.

Showed the wife your thread. Can't get the profanity filter to let me post what she said. I know I have spent less than she has on her three little dogs and Pier One.

My ‘14 GT500 Vert has easily $18-$20k if I really did pen to paper. Knowing I will never ever see that money back, there are no regrets as I made into what I enjoy everytime I enter that garage or fire it up!

I quit keeping track when the mods equaled the purchase price of a new truck. I had fun and enjoyed what I did and to me that made it worth the cost

I've spent quite a bit of money on vehicle mods over the years. Too much to count up. The most being on the Lightning. No regrets though it was fun.

My current '03 Cobra is easily the most modified car I've owned. I don't track costs and I keep receipts hidden in a binder to never see the light of day again until I sell the car. From memory:

5.3 boss block stroker - $12k
F-1A-94 and HOB bracket - $5.5k
RPM-built T56 - $2k
BBRC fuel system - $4k
Blower misc - $2k
Hood - $1k
Suspension/tires - $2k
Tuning - $1k

That's the big rocks off the top of my head, total = $29.5k

I used to keep a excel spreadsheet of all the mods I’ve done to my cars, that ended once I bought my Cobra....

I don’t even want to tally it all up at this point and I’m not even done yet.

I spent around $5k on my 79. Took out the 4 and put in a 351, front suspension and brakes for the added weight, rear end, suspension and brakes, wheels and tires. That was around 1988, so you have to figure in inflation. Engine and trans were transplants from my 73 that the frame rotted out on. I did go through both before putting them in the 79.
