There is not as much excitement on the 2020 as there was for the 13 and 14. I think Ford marketing blew it with the timing of the launch. Also muscle car guys like manuals...old school but these guys buy the cars. Let’s see how the dealers respond if the cars sit. The car magazine tests have not hit as yet...if they are really good say hello to ADM...if not much difference with the 13 /14... prices will get interesting. Just my opinion.

I think Ford took to long and alot of guys are in HC/Z06/ZL1,etc... Totally agree with your summary.

I'm sure the ones who can afford the $100K price for a optioned car will buy them. This will be more "exclusive" than the 13/14s because of the price point. The Trinity's were at the top of my budget and I really overspent but will not even consider this one.

What will be interesting is year 2 or 3. By then, all the people who have alot of money will have bought their's the 1st year. What's going to happen in 21' or 22'? Will the prices settle down and be more reasonable in the low $70K range?

Muscle car guys also liked automatics yet Ford's top dog Mustang has only been available with a manual for decades. There's a multitude of reasons as to why Ford went with something so radically different than ever before and they will quickly point out that if you want a manual Mustang there is always the GT and the GT350.

Based on the reaction so far it is much like that of the GT350. Allocations aren't enough to meet demand (witness the CF TP debacle rising to the top) and the car is indeed quite a bit different than the S197 GT500 variants, regardless of year. Prices are getting interesting, as in skyrocketing ever higher as time passes.

But some us want 760 HP with the manual and won't settle.

Again, there were plenty of consumers looking for an auto in the top dog and they couldn't buy one. Choosing to "settle" or not is your perogative. In the meantime the car is DCT only.

That's true. The GT350 has commanded a premium over sticker for five years now (yes if you dig you'll find a dealer willing to deal - just like many other cars)? Are you implying that the GT500 will somehow be different?

I meant i can go find a minivan that is advertised for more than the sticker price, and its the customers job to get that price down to what they feel its worth

Also RE: DCT
Ford saw an opportunity to grab a piece of a market they only briefly dabbled in. European model buyers.

If your accustomed to paying 60k+ for a bmw, an amg, an S/ RS Audi, a gtr.. what mustang ever blipped on your radar.. GT350 did.. now GT500 will as well

I really don’t think a porsche guy will trade for this Shelby. I’m looking at a New 911 turbo convertible MSRP is 200k and these cars are Night and day! Both Great but different....Will Never sell my 13 Shelby with under 1k miles!

Just be patient. Who cares about getting the first one in town. A fool and his money are soon parted. I remember when the 03 Cobra's came out, dealers had them marked up so I waited. The 04s came out and I was able to get one with rebates in July 04 on top of my x plan. I paid 30K for a new 04 Cobra. These new GT500s will be crazy hot at first, then will cool off. They're making 5000 of them. Not like the Viper when they'd make 500 a year. If you can get a MSRP deal, awesome! Dont overpay and reward greed. Patience grasshopper

Of course you don't want the 2020, who wants to spend that much on a car they won't drive? lol. 1k miles on your 13? Jesus. Sell that thing to someone who will actually enjoy it lol.
What color? I might buy it.

It’s not that I don’t want it, #1 I would rather have a manual shift, #2 All of my cars in the past I never really used, #3 I buy tons of stuff that I really don’t need. It’s better than people that use drugs! I’m not hurting anyone but my savings account....And I will buy a 2020 at MSRP and will drive a couple of times a year No big deal for me! My kids with enjoy everything I have that’s what will make happy!

You wouldn’t want it. It needs an airbag!
I love it. I haven’t had my AB done either because I refuse to have level 1 techs work on my car. Yes, I see it because I am in the business, so this is not just BS. If I could get the inflator I would do it myself. However I have seen numerous inexperienced folks performing this operation incorrectly unbelievable as it may be and yes cars having to come back to have a friggin air bag inflator installed because it was installed incorrectly during the recall. Sad but true. No thanks, I will risk it.

Take your car into the dealership and you will come out with more problems from the top down! I have been in the car business for almost 30 years and have seen it all...

I have only put around 2,500 miles on this one in 34 years! It has the best of everything...Over 100k invested and never sees the sun...

Maybe I should sell this one too.. I have put around 2,500 miles in 34 years! The paint work cost more than some New cars....I was 16 years old when I bought it

Just buy one now.

The r&d on the dct was huge. Ford has no manual currently that will live with this engine. You really thing a manual is coming?
