Well the time has finally come to move on from my cobra, as I finally purchased a car I have wanted for a long long time. I was around 10 when I had blue white striped viper on my bedroom wall (for the record cobra is the #3 dream car, viper#2, and 05 ford gt #1)

Friday morning at 8 am I flew out to Indianapolis, and then I had another hour ride to Columbus Indiana. The car is a 2013 gts, red with billet silver stripes, Laguna sepia interior, harmon kardon 18 speaker stereo (needs some tuning but impressed for a stock system) and track package. The Ford dealership I was purchasing from was great, paperwork went smooth, and I thoroughly inspected my car and was on my way! Well I was at least after wrapping the front end with Tracktape.

After an hour or so of wrapping the car I set on to make it to Memphis the first day, about 6 hours. After the first 3 hours my back started to absolutely kill and I started to get nervous that I was going to hate the car. Luckily I tried a different seating position that is more track driving oriented vs relaxed and voila! The viper has become comfortable! I made it to Memphis trouble free and spent the night. Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to drive the car the rest of the way home. The drive went great for the first few hours until I hit some rain. The corsas did surprisingly well in the rain but I was taking it extremely easy. The Tracktape however didn't hold up so well in the rain but I still made it back to Austin yesterday around 5, with no new rock ships.

Cliffs on viper- Engine is great, wakes the hell up around 3700 or so and then its on like a rocket. Handling is great, brakes are great, but the biggest surprise for me is the steering, its heavy but extremely direct, you point the car go to that spot, instantly.

Car is getting paint correction, xpel front end and ceramic coating this week and then I'll try and get some better pics, but for now I just had to share I am beyond excited and impressed with this car!

Nice. Best looking car from our friends at Dodge. Any plans for the car?

Pick your poison.

Stock, I swear I'm going to keep the car stock, I swear. I fortunately (unfortunately for my wallet) currently live within walking distance of Calvo Motorsports...

But the honest answer is I will probably wait til 2023 until the power train warranty runs out and then go nuts

Congratulations! Great that you found a car you’ve been wanting for a long time. Nice paint color, and the silver stripes add a nice compliment. Enjoy it!! Even stock the GTS is a blast!
So which car is #1? Cobra or ‘05 Ford GT?

Congrats! Great looking ride! Sounds like it was a good way to learn your new car driving all that time! Bravo!

Congratulations man! I kicked the idea around of getting a Gen 5, but I don't want to get rid of my 97. I am with you on the Ford GT though. I don't do that well to be able to afford one of those.

Congrats! Saw your post on the Viper forum too. I also sold my 04 Cobra and stepped up to a gen 5 Viper. Never looked back. Such an amazing car and a bargain in performance for the money. I know what you mean about Calvo though. I keep thinking about their heads/cam combo.

Gen 2's are my favorite and what started my love for vipers and I will definitely own one at some point. I plan to daily my gen V for a little bit and after a test drive of it I knew I had to have one. Same here on the GT, Maybe one day I can afford what they are going for now but by then they'll probably be 1million plus :-(

Antonio is a bad influence, he keeps telling me that since I used to have a turbo mustang that I'll get bored of the heads cam quickly and just want to turbo it after awhile so I should just turbo it from the start. HAHA It's probably a good thing for my wallet that I am moving to Portland soon. He runs an awesome shop though, I will definitely have him maintenance the car before I move though....It might leave with a few goodies while its getting maintenance done, that way I can sneak it past the girlfriend

Congrats! The Gen 5s are a hell of a car! I would really love one in the future, but not sure if I could part ways with my Gen 2.

I've been looking at Gen5s. Where did you find it? Seems like Autotrader has a weak selection

Congratulations!
I was just looking at one of these cars too. I am between the 2014 shelby and these. Price difference is astronomical obviously.

So what’s a good price for a 2013/14 GTS with let’s say 30-40k miles?

Months of constantly checking cars.com, autotrader, Cargurus, and autotempest as well as multiple viper forums. They usually aren't up for very long unless there priced way to high or something is wrong with the car. I specifically chose an r28 recall car for the extended 10 year powertrain warranty as it will help me from tempting to modify the car and give me peace of mind with the motor.
