Let's see,
8 quarts of oil 16 lbs
2 to 3 gallons of engine coolant 20 to 30 lbs
1+ gallon of windshield washer fluid 10 lbs
a couple of pounds of fluid in the brake system
6 quarts of trans fluid for a manual trans 12 lbs auto would be more.
3rd member oil 6 lbs
14 gallons of fuel 88 lbs
There may be some that I've missed, don't know if there is any power steering fluid and these are estimates but I could see fluids being 200 lbs maybe.

Not sure how fluids equates to 250lbs. No tools or spare tire here

I'm just quoting what C&D said; they were the only report I read that specifically mentioned it was dry weight, and to expect closer to 3600lbs curb based on their experience.

From C&D: "Chevy is being coy on weight by only divulging a dry-weight figure of 3366 pounds. That implies a curb weight of roughly 3600 pounds, which is about 150 pounds heavier than the C7."

The release said the DRY weight was roughly 3350. That's minus all fluids. Assume 3600 as the curb weight.

Strange, this 2019 Corvette Catalog only lists curb weight.

Do they always use a full tank of gas for curb weight? Id assume most manufacturers do not. Realistic weight of engine/tranny/diff/coolant is like 50-60lbs. Brake fluid is probably like half a pound, not a couple.

True. I was having trouble finding the official dry weight of the C7. However, the release did specifically say it was the DRY weight. Clever marketing move to not call too much attention to the weight increase over the C7 but not have people whining about no weight figures released.

Dry Weight (lb. / kg): 3366 / 1530

I would think that dry weight would only be relevant if you were planning to ship a car on a plane or ship.

Dry weight is the weight of a vehicle without any consumables, passengers, or cargo. It is significantly less than the weight of a vehicle in a drivable condition and therefore rarely used. Quoting a dry weight can make a car’s weight and power-to-weight figures appear far more favorable than those of rival cars using curb weight.

Fluids in a car include the following:

  • Gasoline, diesel or any other fuel
  • Engine oil
  • Coolant
  • Brake fluid
  • Power steering fluid
  • Transmission fluid
  • Washer fluid
The difference between dry weight and curb weight depends on many variables such as the capacity of the fuel tank. There is no standard for dry weight, so it's open to interpretations.

Over time, most domestic vehicle manufacturers have more commonly used the term 'shipping weight', which refers to the vehicle in as-built, no-option condition. This would include engine oil, coolant, brake fluid and at least some small quantity of fuel, as vehicles have traditionally been driven off the assembly line and these fluids were necessary to do so.

I'm looking to see how much the Z06s new 4.2 TT DOHC weight is in regard to the outgoing 6.2 SC.
Regardless, that weight will be sitting where it should be for optimum balance. Will be fast as hell.
I spin like hell in my GT350R, I can just imagine how the GT 500 is gonna do.
I hear the Beach Boys song, "Surf City here I come" Instead, replace Surf with Spin.
