When you have magazines testing these running low 12s at 112... you can’t be happy with those times. But like all new cars the times will come down with practice. My biggest issue with it is no dsg or manual trans. Auto only....
There would be no new Supra without BMW
There would be no new Z4 without Toyota
Look at the BRZ twins... Toyota is unwilling to design and build its own sporting cars.

Thanks.

The old one became a legend not based on stock performance but based on being able to hold mass power with the stick power plant. We are still waiting if that’s true for the replacement.

I have no doubts this bmw mill can be turned up a notch or two, but I doubt it can ever get close to old 2JZ mill, it was ridiculous how much that stock motor could take.

The die hard MKIV guys aren’t too thrilled with the gen5 car. Though I am sure some will lineup to buy it. I know I wouldn’t buy a mustang made by Fiat.

Packaging and suspension are also a huge thing. The 300zx's VG30DETT and 5spd are super tough and do comparable power figures. The problem is turbo packaging is a night mare, custom fab is mandatory. Once that's all solved, Nissans suspension geometry makes for a half shaft busting, E/T killing wheel hop mess.
Thanks.

The B58 has been out and it's about $6k to put down 500whp. That's a $3,500 turbo-fold upgrade, injectors, upgraded intake, intercooler and tune. The engine is a packaging nightmare with water cooled intake manifold, turbofold-catdownpipe and more vaccum hoses then a Dirt Devil plant.

The 8HP60 should be aright in the lighter, less torquee BMW, but it's not a God Tier transmission like the 8HP90, Borg 10spd or even a TR6060.

If this car came out 10 years ago, it would have been lit, but in 2020? For $60k!?? Just so many awesome cars new and CPO in that price range.
