I just looked up the Performance Tool W2977...it’s like $30. How was that outside of his budget? I just assumed it was because you said so. Either way my bad.

My bad for not looking up the current price of that model. They used to be a lot more expensive, $130 to $256 but the price has really dropped on them this year. I did not realize that model had come down so much. Here is a link to a mom and pop shop through Walmart who is still trying to get $200+ for them:
W2977 Diagnostic Scan Tool for Autos
$254.73 ∙ Was $362.74 · Walmart - Rons Home and Hardware

Reading comprehension must not be your bag. I stated both were above your budget. The title says recommendations. I told you what I use and recommend. I also gave you a cautionary tale of what happens when you try to use cheap Chinese readers that interface with the most critical component of the vehicle and can read, edit, brick and cause damage. You’re welcome and hell yeah it’s big.

Ahh **** I’m out.

Kahn gonna be blowing up your on now dumbass. Lol

Sent from my POFS iPhone in a rage cause this is the third try.

***EDIT*** For fords, not universal. Sorry for the confusion.

FORscan.org

Free and nearly as good as most paid applications.

Get a DLC2 to USB that they recommend and you're G2G

This. I bought a dongle about a year ago and have just started modifying the code in a few friends cars to enable/disable things.

Im about to delete the TPMS on my Fiesta since the sensors are ****ing garbage. Forscan is amazing for Ford/Mazda applications.

I have torque..but looks like forscan is great too.
and the tool has a forum..that is a plus.
It looks like Forscan uses the same OBD2 BT Dongle that Torque does.?

forscan + torque + BAFX = 6 + 6 + 30 = $42

The tool is on your phone with dongle in the glove compartment.
It loo

Aside:
I have a ?maxiscan? tool, but getting it to synch up with the ecm and read codes was hit or miss on the mustang. It worked ok on the G35. I paid too much for that crap.

You could also go straight OE Rotunda tools. Check OBD2Tool.com for the Ford VCM suite package w/ laptop. Its $300 and is literally the original VCM suite package a dealer would buy from Ford.

I was just laughing at the $9,000 option. He ended up getting all defensive, took his ball, and went home. It’s all good.
