Because I’m a Ford guy and until the Camaro gets it and it actually is able to consistently “lay waste” to the 2020 GT500, it is just that.
Opinion
Theory
Hypothetical
And fake!
If it does than so be it but GM has to actually put the motor in the Camaro to even be a “possibility”.
Then it actually has to accomplish that!
Otherwise
Just wait until Ford puts the twin turbo Predator engine in the 2022 GT500 and puts the Camaro in its grave with authority!
See I can do fake news too ;)

Look I’ve already posted in this thread and others that the C8 is a game changer and I am impressed and hooked on following its progress. I would absolutely love to see what this thing does with a Whipple or twin turbos. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out. I think it will be incredible and I truly wish Ford had something to compete in the mid engine arena at that price point. So much so that I’m struggling with the fact that I may actually have to buy one!
BUT
All the hypothetical ass kickings that everyone is throwing into each and every thread is nothing more than entertainment!! Until these cars are on the road or track head to head it’s nothing more than that. Bench race all you want but let’s be realistic. People are quoting this and that and everything is getting exaggerated. Hell about a 3600 lbs curb weight verse a possible 4200 curb weight is being posted as a “nearly 1000 lbs difference”.
Really?

So to sum it all up!
I’ve been drinking and doing a few pudding shots because I’m stuck on a stupid camping trip thats not camping in my opinion. Surrounded by my wife her friend and 4 whiny ass little kids that I only have to claim one of.
Anyway I’m bored and have nothing else to do ;)

However I think the C8 is incredible and I think the GT500 is too but think more could have been done with it.
Let’s have fun and see how things play out. Then we can really get down to it when they hit the tracks :)

I was waiting for more pricing info to come out. Everyone on here being SVT, kept saying its only 60k, everything else sucks and it will be a nice DD, lol ok.

Dude on Youtube just showed the build sheet at the dealer.

1. magnaride and front lift option, you have to select the 3lt for this = 12k
2. Black painted alum rims, 2700
3. z51 performance, 1000
4. Spoiler (huge ricer) 1150
5. performance bucket seats, 500
6. Transparent removal roof (targa type thing?), 1000
7. suede wrapped steering wheel, 600

So you're looking at at least 80k to get the decent options you want. This was never a 60k car.

Apparently you can get a custom VIN for 5000.

With every single option you can do, it specs to 110k.

The best option if you really want one, will to wait for the z06, then wait 3-5 years for them to tank and pick up a used one for half the price.

Have you seen what an F150 costs if you click all the boxes too? Yea.. Options cost money. But you can have the max performance Z51 for 65k... 70k will still get you a very nicely optioned unit. Please do show us whats better in that price range.

Take off #1, 2, & 4 and I'd be good to go lol

People talk about cars and options like the OPTIONAL features NEED to be part of the car.

The only 2 real options I see people NEEDING from the C8 to make it a real performance threat in Mexico is the Z51 package and the Performance bucket seats. Even then, the seats only make the car more comfortable for the driver.

When the Z06 comes out, the base Z06 will likely need zero options to take people to Gapplebee's.

So... opinion, not fact. Even though no one has either car for testing.

Gotcha

It's almost like people who have been buying cars for years have suddenly forgotten how purchasing a new car works. "What you have to pay for options?" "You mean I have to pay sales tax" etc. This car is priced very similarly to the previous generation and people are complaining. I don't get it.

By all rights they could price this car starting at $79,999 for 2020 and people would still buy it.

When has GM made a Camaro faster than its corvettes?
Legitimate question

2nd, whats the price of a vette powered Camaro?
3rd, they need to do something to push sales, other than offer current Mustang owners 2500 off for competitive sales acquisition

4th. If you think a C8 is going to touch my 500 anytime in the next 3 years, well, i dont even have anything funnier to say about that

Ya know, my calc shows that a 900hp automatic coyote should run 9s too, and you cant seem to do it, maybe your right?

The old days of SVTP, your retarded ass wouldnt even need to be banned. You would voluntarily never return from the humiliation from other members for runnin 10.7s in a 900hp atuo coyote and constantly coming up with excuses:)

Speaks of old days. Join date in member info is from 2013.

@gimmie11s 's join date is from 2004.

Im not a rocket scientist, but thats evidence you're not in a position to recall the "old days" of SVTP. Unless you closed your account and came back. Which means you left, and he stayed.

But what the **** do I know, I just basic math sooo.. yeah.

Your saying svtp used to be a snake pit and an SVT Lightning owner would rather read than post for several years cant recall what it was like?

Basic math says 900hp 3700lb Mustang can run 9s too, but thats not always the case, as we can see :)

Yes, that is what im saying. I found SVT Performance in August of 2014. I then joined in September of 2014; that was 5 years ago in a month or two. I found SVTP, I liked content, I joined. As a matter of fact I joined and asked some pretty new-guy phaggot questions about making GT500 power in my 2014 GT.

In that time Ive had a few people Ive gotten into spats and squabbles with. Everyone here has. I like the fact that people need to wear big boy pants here, and that phaggotry is not tolerated and actively called out.

I wouldnt be bragging about being a long time lurker then joining after it became less of a "snake pit". Kind of like you couldnt handle the fire until it got safe. But hey, **** it, thats just me.

As far as @gimmie11s Twin Turbo 2018 GT A10 not running as fast as you feel it should: You pump 900/900 at the wheels out of your 2020 GT500 @4220 lbs and rip off some 9 second runs for us.

With video too, and state the following before each run: "I love Kaneda's pink dildo collection". You know, so we can authenticate it as you.

Thank you guys :)
I do try and I also have respect for the other color blue ovals that tend to be red and are shaped like tampons. ;)
Ohhh the choices. What a world we live in!

Why is there so many options for the car? Could not make it simple? It would seriously take you all day to go over everything and complete and order for someone who is not familiar with Vette's. $114k is msrp fully optioned, starting at $59,995...Yikes
