Yeah, definitely a bit weird. First time I've ever seen a classroom with a commercial overhead door wall. LOL.
I can only imagine if i was back in school and had big doors like that open i would have been sooo distracted, lol.
Regardless nice looking school. What was the reason for a new one? I almost thought maybe it was a shop class til i saw some math on the board.

I asked about what you mentioned and was told by the building engineer that the glass is bullet "resistant". In other words, someone with a decently powered firearm is going to get through the glass. I was not a fan of the garage door for that very reason. We're dead ducks if we get attacked.
We were not told about the rationale for it either.
I keep it closed all day. Will not open it. The previous school was deemed too rundown and old with poorly working plumbing and HVAC systems so a new one was built. 32 million dollars for the building and grounds. I do have a view of The Strip and the mountains from my classroom though:

That school looks tits VM.
Gotta agree the door open would be a distraction, although you can use it as a tool.
Class avg stays above x%, then the door goes up (height of door/days of school minus 15 days) that way the kids got something to work towards.
Think that movie with the Indians baseball club and the cut out of their bitch boss getting more naked after every win.
