vortech is still your best bet. over ten years ago I think I bought a kit for $2200. 400whp, drop some weight, and you got a pretty fast car. either that or sell it for a 11-12 coyote ...

While back beefcake had killer deals on them.

Sent from my POFS iPhone in a rage cause this is the third try.

this is your best bet. keep her around 400-420 whp and she will last. Or go ape shit with forged internals and crank up the boost.
... better not let my nephew see this kit. He bought my 02 Explorer 4.6L 4x4.

Hell, that would make that a fun little gapper. 150 shot of nitrous might make it REALLY rowdy. Plus its got that all aluminum Romeo block.

We are going with forged internals. My tech and I still have some planning to do on the best parts for NA that can handle a power adder. When I start thinking about that, all of a sudden its my car and not just a project. My actual goal is to buy my own car again after we finish her car and my other project. 1971 Fiat Spider 124 is nearly complete. I'll finish up the brakes on that and then we go to paint. I got a feeling that 101hp isnt going to make me feel too good...so Im thinking about a 2020 Shelby once someone buys it and trades it in after they scare themselves... working at a dealership has its perks!

Why not a 4V swap with some gears and cams? I see a lot of Mark VIII gear on the cheap. Aviator as well.

700+ rwhp is possible with turbo, ported MHS heads, cams, forged internals, with the right fuel setup.

I still have my cammed 2v. I would love to do a 5.4 swap if I had the tools and space. Unlike the 4.6, the 5.4 with stock piston will allow you to run wild cams, as well as a short runner intake manifold.

A coyote engine would increase the resale value though.

Cog pulleys really should not be run on Eatons/Whipples/KBs. They need that little slack that a normal belt gives them. Putting a cog on will lead to early failures in the snout.

I remember way back in the day someone made a cog setup for the eaton m112, it sounded wicked but people were destroying belts left and right IIRC. Think it was the Motoblu setup or something.

i plan to go down to the shop Im talking to and meet the guy Im talking to. I want to check out the shop, look around a bit and make sure things will go as best they can. I expect delays given it'll be winter and thats ok with me. I want it done right. I'm going with the 2v build. All forged internals, custom heads, cams, tune, lt headers, mid pipe no cats, and in the meantime I plan on stiffening the chassis and making grand plans! I cant wait to get started! Nothing like a project!

I can once I go down and meet with the guys at the performance shop.

Probably in the second or third week of September we'll drive down. I want to check out their shop and see their operation.

If I like what I see, we will get detailed info and plan this engine proper!
