Edge of Sanity?
If that album doesn't scratch the heavy riff itch, I don't know what will. This one is a masterpiece.
Zip to 21:40 and tell me that isn't metal perfection. So simple, so damn brutal. He must have tracked that 8 times to get that wall of distortion.
Plus Dan runs a RH 6 string, strung normal, flipped around to play left handed. I have no idea how he does it. The chord shapes and progressions are totally different if it is not strung backwards... Blows my mind.
Yeah, that's got a fat heavy sound to it. Not too shabby on the guitar work.lol

The new KNOCKED LOOSE album came out recently.
Check this shit out,..........

I'll have to check it out in a bit. I'll let you know now, I'm kind of a "music snob", if you haven't figured that out by now. lol :)
If the music is good, but the vocals suck, I'll pass on any band. Vice versa, if the vocals are great, but the music sucks, I'll pass.

I'm a definite music snob too. But, I can respect anyone's taste if they just simply like something. Take country music as an example. I can't stand it one bit. But, if someone actually likes it, more power to 'em, just don't tell me how "deep" and "skillful" it is.

If it's a brain workout listening to the music, I'm more apt to enjoy it. I think I posted this once before but this is a good example of what I love. Time signature changes like crazy, tonal dynamics, syncopation, it's a bunch of music theory flexing but man it scratches the itch

I LOVE BLOTTED SCIENCE!!
Amazing stuff and talent.

Yeah, I like the tough guy/slamcore breakdown stuff. But, I listen to a lot of fast stuff as well like old school Morbid Angel, Pestilence for example.

Celtic Frost by any chance? ...in the non "ughhHHhh" days? (TGW is a legend but the 80's UNGH was kinda cringy)

Or these guys... Melodeath supergroup. This is one of my favorites- the outro is insanely fun to play along with.

Melodic Doom Metal. Some of their earlier stuff is thrashy, all around excellent band though.

Hmm... how about this one? Before Nergal went "Black Metal Western"

Behemoth or Novembers Doom? Neither are viking haha. ND has some slower stuff, all melodic- good mix of melodic and doom. Behemoth is flat out nuts. Earlier the thrashier. They became really well known in 2014. "The Satanist" is one hell of an album. Adam/Nergal changed up styles about 6 years ago and went more towards a dark "black western" as I call it. He started another project called "That Man and Me" which is dark western mixed with black metal. Weird stuff but pretty decent.

Not sure if I shared this one yet. AJ goes deep and shows how skillful he is.

One of my all time favorites.

JUST FOUND THEM!?!?!?!

Carrion
Wild Eyes
Bottom Feeder
Vice Grip
Crushed

All much better (imo) than their new album! New album's sound is a bit weird compared to their older stuff.

Here ya go!

Good call on these. Lovin’ crushed
