So, the factory Nav headunit in my '08 GT500 'Vert is getting tired. I've looked around and haven't seen too many updated threads on headunit swaps. Any modern units worth looking at? I see the Raxiom model that American Muscle has, but not sure how good it is.

Thoughts/suggestions welcome!
Thanks,

Don't waste your time or money on Raxiom. Go with a known aftermarket audio company. Apline/Pioneer/Kenwood even.
I made a detailed video on swapping my headunit from my Shaker 1k one.

Check out the Pioneer 4400. I have that in my car. It has all the latest stuff, but it last year's model so has a price break. I really like the screen mirroring.

The only caution I have is that there are no great fitting install kits for the head unit. The best I've found after having several S197's is the Metra unit, but it always mounts the radio deeper in the dash on the driver's side. If you are OCD like me, you will need to space it out with some washers to make it perfectly flush.

I have the Pioneer AVIC-5200NEX in my 08. DVD, NAV, Bluetooth, etc. and supports the stock Sub Woofer.

I'll take a pic. from in the car and post shortly. Previous owner had it installed....looks like it belongs in the car.

I have the Sony XAV-100, its on the smaller side but it has a knob for vol control and very affordable. I got it from crutchfield, they have all kinds of bezels and adapters to fit any car so I highly recommend you check them out.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be sure to check them out.

I don't suppose any of these aftermarket units will interface with the existing Sat Antenna would they? Otherwise, I'm wondering what to do with the puck on the trunk and where to put another one if need be (or I would probably just skip Sat radio all together).

Try crutchfield. They can also give you some recommendations based on your budget and personal preferences.

I have the existing Sat Antennae and the new one supplied with the Pioneer deck (small square cube that sits on the passenger side dash close to the windshield). No interference from what i can tell.....Nav works fine.

Here's the pic. I promised.
