Wow! 1,100 allocations at 1 ! dealership! I think Ford has their head in the sand about how many GT500's to build.

Kerbeck is for all intents and purposes a specialty dealer, yes he sells Chevrolets but his bread and butter has always been Corvettes. Where most Chevy dealers sell like 5 regular cars and trucks for every Vette he sells 3 Vettes for every regular car/truck. He is the only dealer that does this.

Wonder what MacMulkin's allocation is? They were #2 in 'Vette sales for 2018 just behind Kerbeck. They are the dealership I bought my Z from.

But even the small dealer had 19 allocations.

While this is pretty awesome news for the Vette, I will never understand why people continue to compare this type of car to a Mustang, no matter if it is a base model V6 or top of the line GT500.

Two different cars. One is a sports car the other is a pony car. One has a backseat and a LOT more cargo room, the other is a two seater car that will cost nearly $150,000 as a base price with options and no ADM's, and the other will need to have a large ADM in order to exceed $100,000.

The Vette should be compared to entry level 911 cars, Ferrari's, etc. Not a "Mustang"

2019 Z06 starts at $80,900...I'd say that's right in the mix of the GT500.

The top gt500 exceeds 100k before adm... And a z06 will be nowhere near 150k base price, you are quite out to lunch there. They are very cross shoppable cars. Most stick to one or the other due to brand loyalty and thats it.

You will never appeal to the logic side of most users here, see below.

They are comparing a theoretical rumor 2021 car, to a new and known 2020 car, as u said, 2 different matchups, and in 2 very different segments for performance and pricing.

When you make logical sense on those, they drop pricing argument to annolder lesser model, still not comparable. Its chess checkers cats and earthworms. They will never argue what you are saying, only what you aren't

How do i fit 4 in a z06?

Its a compliment to the Mustang that a Corvette being compared to it.
Remember, the mustang is a $27k car, the c8 is a $59k car.

Also, i just checked the c7z06, msrp for a 1LZ is $82k. I have a feeling the c8Z06 will be $85k-$88k.
This is the c8 to get, gotta have front end lift kit, pdr, front facing cameras. Two years out, but with chevy id wait for 2nd or even 3rd model year.

In 2005, sure.

Not any longer. The Mustang is now obviously aimed at European "sports cars" as competitors.

2019, yes. 2020/2021, doubt it will be the same.

2020 GT500 per the google says 70K. That is a nice chunk of change there.

Eh, I was thinking ZR1 for some odd reason when I posted this. Either way, 19' Z06 is 80K. I HIGHLY doubt it will be the same base price. Base price of the 2020 GT500 is listed on the google at 70K before ADM prices add on to it.

The mustang is not a muscle car anymore. It has now evolved to sports car. It is going after handling, all around driver experience.

My guy...

No one is comparing the c8 to a base v6.... lol! The comparison is with a $100k + 500.

Mustang still really isn't a "sports" car, though.

2005-2010 were basically the same.

Also - How do you compare a 4 seater to a 2-seater that is and pretty much always has been considered a sports car, let alone a C8 that is apparently a Ford GT killer and mid-level Ferrari competitor? Never really seen Ford say "The new GT500 will be taking on Super cars" like Chevy has made it a point to do so with the new C8 Vette being a huge bang for buck at 60K.

It’s a sports car. It has transcended from just a muscle car to sports. That’s a good thing, as it is now a complete pkg.

Fair points, but, I still don't think a Vette should be compared to a Mustang.

It was always Mustang VS Camaro, but, hey, oh well.

C8 IS A FAILURE since it doesnt stand up to the 991.1 Porsche offerings.

The Mclaren 600lt is a much better performance per dollar value, and the 720 is a real bargain now.
The huracan would be my choice however

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

I hear you. It is unnatural. But Ford has made it so that the 500 is now a competitor to the vette, which again, is not a bad thing. Now, the only big difference between them, is a bit more room on the stang. Just a bit.

The only true muscle car left is challenger and charger.

Camaro is now also a sports car.

That’s one of the reasons corvette had to go through an evolution. Camaro and mustang (top trims) were closing the gap. Corvette just gapped them again in performance and killed them in price.

The c8 z06 will be more than the c7z obviously but will still start cheaper than the only gt500 that has a chance in hell in trying to compete. Which also, you cant even buy without sucking fords dick.

The s550 is literally the definition of sports car. The only and only difference is back seats
